Once upon a time it was the most beautiful tenor voice around. Heard him before he started to sing 'everything' under the sun. What a shame.

This is the most beautiful of all Carreras' performances of this gorgeous aria. What makes this beyond perfection, is the sustained decrescendo on the first syllable of the word "aggiungete" and the beautiful evenness of the sustained ma se aMOOOOOOR se amor cadra. The rest of the aria is the "usual" gorgeousness that is Carreras' voice. He's 32 here, so handsome. I wish this performance were on DVD. I have the Caballe, Carreras Adriana Lecouvreur DVD.

Carreras' breath control is always remarkable. Watch him in any role, you barely see him Labor. Some listeners criticize him or his technique, but I find he fills the stage, my ears, my heart with exquisite beauty. His soulful performances remind me there is so much beauty in the world.

@minuciofelice64654 жыл бұрын

@@bodiloto,Well, yes, of course, "A certain" Corelli..Which has no equal and will not be.Anyone who has ever heard this aria performed by him understands the difference.Carreras was great in his early years, but to claim that he is the best in the last 50 years is simply ridiculous!

AHORA SI ME DESPIDO...

Naeim Darzi You must be the only person in the Western World who doesn't know the answer to that question. He got Leukemia. It was something of a medical miracle that he lived at all. He had mushrooms growing in his throat. Most people thought he would never sing again - but he recovered. That's what the 'Three Tenors' concerts were all about. The world welcomed him back. But of course it was never quite the same again.

Buon Tenore ma non un fenomeno. Niente paragonabile a Pavarotti , Corelli , Bergonzoni o Del Monaco.
