This sounds like two geniuses playing chess

Imagine repeatedly hearing the themes of both the protagonist and primary antagonist throughout the show only for a mix of both to start playing when their final confrontation begins. Then, when the conclusion is reached, the loser's theme fades out and only that of the winner remains. Now I really want to watch a show that does that.

The fact that Death Note related content is still being made years after the series ended, speaks volumes about how amazing the series is.

I like to think of this theme as OUR theme. Instead of Light's or L's. After all, its the Viewer who has seen both sides of the story, and learned from both characters. We're a combination of both of their legacies.

For me it represents how awesome friends they could be if not for their beliefs (or should I say Light's beliefs). They both felt that the other was the only person that could follow their thoughts despite differences. One introvert and one extrovert. Perfect duo.

Imagine if L had a body double that practically is an exact replica of him and his personality at the part where he “dies”, taking the blow for the real L, making Light believe that he had won and then at the end, he shows up and arrests Light, with 100% evidence that he is Kira. It would be the craziest plot twist in history and I do think i could’ve been done in a legit and not cheap way.

I love this because I remember when this show was on here for free. They were both fighting for justice, just in different ways. It's a shame they couldn't put their differences aside. Because they were both so cool in their different ways. I used to hate Light, but I understood why he was so bored with this world. I am too. He's bored because it's get a job, get married, blah blah blah. And he just wasn't interested in the conventional status quo. I get it, and that's why I love them both.
