L7 pops up twice in a music cable channel's countdown of the "100 Greatest Metal Moments": At #94 for the infamous incident at the 1992 Reading Festival where singer Donita Sparks flung her used tampon into the rowdy crowd; and at #22 for the time the band raffled off a one-night stand with drummer Dee Plakas at a show in London in 2000.
Seeing this makes me hungry for stink...

I've seen a ton of women interviewed in these VH1 rocker shows. The fact no women were interviewed seems a little deliberate but whatever, its a punk rock show, not politics. What exactly is "the point"?

I was there and it really did happen, no stunt! When the crowd dispersed I found the tampon in the mud and left it there. Quite funny about half a dozen guys looking at it and going "er, think I'll leave that there". Probably the only thing ever to get thrown off stage and not taken home as a memento. Kind of wish I had now though......sick as that is. lol.

A lot of people reached for it … I guess they didn’t hear what I said. Then it came back on stage. It landed on the monitor ledge. I didn’t see it again until I saw Nick Cave’s set after ours. At a show in Tucson, Blackie Lawless of WASP was throwing posters in to the audience. While stating "...saved the best for last," he rubbed that one on himself, and he threw that into the audience. We fled from that one.

L7 is real music and I wouldn’t even call them metal per se. They’re punk. They predated Grunge and Riot Grrrl and they are seriously underrated. Pretty unique style of punk that has elements of grunge and metal not like Alice In Chains though. I’ve tried to listen to every band associated with Grunge and I’m also a huge fan of Punk
