My Guard Passing Instructional: limibjj.mykajabi.com/course
Website: limibjj.mykajabi.com
Torreando guard passes, knee slice from headquarters, and body lock passing are all simple and effective guard passes. But to be an advanced guard passer, often times you need to chain attacks together to pass the guard. After spending the last month studying John Danaher, Gordon Ryan, Lachlan Giles, and Brandon McCaghren, it is my opinion that the fastest way to be an advanced guard guard passer is to focus on passing chest to chest half guard. In this video we talk about why it is relatively simple to look like an advanced guard passer.

My first Online Instructional Course is here! limibjj.mykajabi.com/course I have spent the past few months focused on passing half guard and am happy to announce that I have compiled all of my findings to create my first instructional course! My goal is to give you a clear game plan and training methods to transform your guard passing

It's not a joke. Those instructionals are expensive, but worth it. You get years of experience by the best teachers and practitioners in the game, life access to all the most important details for the price of 2 to 4 private lessons. That's value.

coincidentally I have been working what I call the "head grip/underhook" passing from half guard for a couple of months. Gordon vs pedro is a great example and what prompted me to start passing/pinning in that manner. This video offers some good details and clarity to some of the issues that I have been working through with the system. Fantastic.

That tip about not having your head on the same side as the underhook just opened my eyes to why I have trouble being heavy some times thanks so much. It makes perfect sense have my head opposite of my underhook so that I'm spread out more with my weight and have a wider base overall to keep them flat while pummeling legs for mount

this is so legit. My guard passing didn't work at all until I got used to pinning the hip, then getting chest to chest. then pass. one thing I have really like doing is rolling a knee cut flat to pin their hips as I go into chest to chest. you can use a wrist grip to open them up to that. Learned that from my prof :)

I Absolutely love what you are doing. You are strengthening your own knowledge and helping the Jiu-Jitsu community in a positive way. 🤙🏼 I'm curious, did you name your channel after reading the book or before? Appreciate your time and energy 🙏🏽

Dude... I spent YEARS trying to learn these details on my own, and you have em in a 20 min video. Good stuff man!! at the deep half position in 14:40, I like to use the underhook deep in their lat to pull their upper body up and slide my knee behind them to put myself between their back and the mat. The underhook + proper weight distribution can buy you time to use your mobility advantage on top and explore options.

Only addendum to the DHG section- your opponent doesn't need the scoop grip at all. DH entry is more about using the hamstring to access your trapped leg as a lever and getting their shoulder under your COG. DHG is my primary sweep from half guard and I never use the scoop grip at all
@LIMIBJJ

Is this in no gi?
@selfcritical
@selfcritical Жыл бұрын
@@LIMIBJJ Yep. I reach for the trapped leg a la jeff glover (and sometimes Ryan hall but he does both). Most common entries are either wedging my forearm under a kneecut and then kicking wide or starting to come out the back door when opponent is in quarter guard

@@grapplelikewater1698 gotcha. For me I would say it was a mistake. I did it so I could train more but I found myself having to research a lot about installing electrical or a fan or how to build a bed. I didn’t have a skill set in construction or anything so it was a lot of work that took away from my main goal of jiu jitsu. But that is just my opinion based on my skill set and goals. So just something to consider. I enjoyed it for sure but not something I would do again
