I worked refreshments for this show during its run on Broadway in 2010, and I swear it was one of the most special things I've ever seen to this day. For me, this revival was the best of what Broadway should aspire to be: entertaining, edgy, meaningful, but never losing its sense of grace and class.

Saw this at the Playhouse with Douglas Hodge and I have to say he was absolutely outstanding. The whole show is a gem. Unfortunatley Hodge leaves the show after next week.

Why do they so often sing "I am what I am" in such a sad mood? Girls, it's a very proud song!👍👍👍

Because of the story, Albin is feeling sad because George wanted him to act differently for Ann's family

Great, entertaining performances. Only thing for me was the solo "I Am What I Am", to wit I would have enjoyed a pure baritone/bass voice, without the inflection. Les Cagelles, though, were sweet and the show, of course, a statment for the 80's and is still as poignant today as it was 25 yrs ago. Not that much has changed. Bravo!
