I saw him onstage at the Met in today’s (rainy) matinee. He was wonderful but, like most singers, he sounds far better in the theater than on these social media platforms. In fact, he doesn’t even sound good on this clip, whereas he sounded amazing to us in the balcony.

My exact experience with Jagde. Way better in person. Not perfect of course but sounds infinitely better in person.

Perché tutto urlato ? Quando si provano le emozioni di cui " parla" questa musica ,il grande artista ha inflessioni nell'emissione del.suono : quando ci esprimiamo col cuore e l'anima a pezzi : urliamo con voce alta e robusta ! Quando piangiamo, il dolore soffoca la nostra voce. Almeno così io credo per esperienza.

Brian Jagde's amazing instrument should be heard and appreciated live onstage. He is phenomenal! Not only in this role but all the others I have seen him in on the Met stage (in Tosca, Aida). I would not hesitate to call him the best dramatic tenor today (very close to Piotr Bezcala who is also amazing!). His technique is superb and the volume and the power that he generates absolutely without effort is unreal!
