The zarzuela "La Gran Vía" is an exponent of the small genre raised in the field of current affairs magazine, where the social and political concerns of the moment were exposed with good humor and a satirical sense. The script portrays the news of the moment with skill and satire, showing on stage a great parade of types and comic situations to great effect.
The music is an exponent of the melodic ease of Federico Chueca and Joaquín Valverde, creating numbers that connect with the public such as "En el calle de Alcalá", "El bazaar de juguetes", "La jota de los ratas", "El tango de la Menegilda” or “The mazurka of the little sailors”.
The Algemesí Symphonic Band interprets the zarzuela "La Gran Vía", by Federico Chueca, at the Partner Concert held on February 4, 2023 at the Algemesí Municipal Theater.

Contestando a Noemi Serra:Su madre tenia buen gusto,seguro que desde el cielo la escucha. Viendo su banderola separatista creo que denomina vodevil a LA GRAN VIA,con ánimo despreciativo. La Gran Via,es una zarzuela,alegre,vivaz y refleja hasta con un aire de critica,los entresijos del cambio úrbanistico del Madrid de la época. Lo hace de manera genial,inspirada,divertida,castiza fiel reflejo del Madrid de entonces. Es una pena que los independentistas sean unos amargados,envidiosos,toca collons,aprovechados,que critican lo Español,pero no saben vivir sin la paga del estado. Solo pensais en el 3÷ y ahora quereis el 100x100.😂😂😂
