But justice already found him guilty. What right does Innocence Project have to question a whole justice system: prosecutor, judge, jury and defense attorney and plaintiff attorney. So this non profit organization has the last say on a case that the court has already given a sentence? I am asking, maybe I am missing something

@@carch7243wrong. They did prove their case. The dumb jurors just considered the defenses really crazy story of the father possibly being guilty. Casey lied to the police over and over again. The body was found a few blocks away from the home she was staying at. Casey’s car smelled like a dead body. Casey waited for so long to report the missing daughter. Partied through this time. There is ample evidence but jurors in FL are weird. Popcorn shooter walked free too. Not sure how popcorn equals threat but that’s FL.

Why? Because through evidence they have found, they have a good idea that he’s innocent. I don’t know if he’s guilty, but this project is inundated with requests. They must know much more. Again, I don’t know what happened. But because you don’t agree doesn’t mean it’s not possible

I think it’s this fact alone that many people are now saying that The Innocence Project has lost it’s credibility leads me to believe they might actually have something to prove Scott Peterson’s innocence. Think about it. What does The Innocence Project have to gain from representing Scott Peterson? The backlash alone would be good reason enough to deny representing Scott Peterson unless they felt that they had strong evidence to prove Scott Peterson’s innocence.

Sorry but you haven't actually looked into this case it seems. Everything you just mentioned is easily dispelled. There is nothing that connects Scott with Lacy's murder. Take a step back and be fair about it. The jury foreman had to recuse himself from the deliberations because everyone rushed to judgment thanks to strawberry shortcake. And let's not forget the infamous press conference by the other women. Something never seen before or since that landmark and catastrophic fail by law enforcement

So buying a boat makes him guilty ?? Two strands of her hair, which could easily have been transferred from him two strands !! so tell me what other things are there ??? They convicted this guy on a theory they had zip zero no evidence no DNA no forensics nothing !!! They said he killed her in the house, carried him in broad daylight into his truck, carry her out of the truck into his warehouse in broad daylight, carried out from the truck again onto the boat in broad daylight, and nobody saw it !!! Why were the fireman told not to tell anyone about the van ?? You know the van that was used to burglarize the house across the street the day she went missing with the three men that she confronted according to six witnesses that weren’t allowed to testify in the trial !!! How does a Juror who is a victim of domestic violence, and lied to the judge, and the attorneys about being a victim get on the jury ?? Then she was gloating outside the courthouse during the press conference, saying some things that were not normal for a juror to say did you see it????? That is grounds for the conviction to be dismissed and a retrial!! why was that not addressed ?? Listen, I don’t know if he did it. I can tell you this they had zero evidence to convict him of murder. ! I’m sure you know he was convicted long before the trial started ! The prosecution proved one thing he’s a scumbag. I won’t argue with that. Also, he’s an adulterer no argument there, but neither make you a murderer.

He didn't mention any of this to police. Over a dozen eyewitnesses had seen Laci that day. Most of them described her and her dog. And NO, police did not find a pregnant woman that walked that day that could have been mistaken for Laci. Then there is Russell Graybill, who told officers on 12-27-02 that the gate was open and McKenzie was not on the property when he delivered mail to their house between 10:35 and 10:50 that morning. The MPD claimed that Laci had gone missing before Karen Servas put the dog back in the yard and closed the gate. That information alone shows that Laci was walking McKenzie when Graybill devered the mail. Otherwise, the gate would have been closed, and McKenzie would have been barking at him.

Are we really inclined to believe Scott was looking at $20.99 umbrella stand decorated in sunflowers, and a $6.99 fleece scarf from the Gap. And don't say say this was Scott.

He said he lost his wife. He made it up because he was confronted with Amber's friend and she knew he was married. She told him he has to tell Amber or she would. So he made that up. He used the excuse that his wife had passed, and he could then use his traveling work as an alibi as to why he'd be gone most of the time. It's not uncommon for someone cheating to lie. Telling the truth to Amber wouldn't be a priority. The same women we know for a fact he lied to over and over again. He cheated and lied, but there is no evidence he killed anyone.

Now, did you also say, in your response to Mr. Distaso's questions, that you'd never seen him hysterical, but you had seen him cry, you had seem him being emotional after Laci was missing, isn't that right? GRANTSKI: Yes, I had. GERAGOS: On more than one occasion? GRANTSKI: Yes. GERAGOS: He was extremely emotional, especially for him, because you had never seen him emotional at all before that? GRANTSKI: That's true. . .GERAGOS: The comment was, if I've got it right, he's in the driveway, is he standing with a police officer? I think he maybe even had some tears in his eyes. But as far as a frantic behavior, I wouldn't claim. Just frantic concern. … Mark Mark Geragos: Did he appear to be upset to you? Detective Grogan: Mark Geragos: Now the, did you look at any of the interviews that Ms. Rocha had given, for example, to the Today Show on December 30th in which she says mom, that she said that Scott said, "Mom, is Laci there"? Craig Grogan: No, I have never seen that before. Mark Geragos: Did you ever look at the January 14th Today's Show where she said "I just immediately, I knew she was missing"? Craig Grogan: No, I have never seen that before. Mark Geragos: Okay. That would have been the January 14th show would have been two days before she was told about the existence of Amber Frey, is that correct, or the day before? Craig Grogan: It would have been the day before, yes. Mark Geragos: And that, at least if the transcript's accurate, she's the one who said that she knew Laci was missing just by the panic rising in Scott's voice, correct? Craig Grogan: Yes, that's what it says. Amie Krigbaum (neighbor): Amie Krigbaum: So I mean he, he was distraught; it kind of made me a little distraught, so I didn't really know how to handle the situation, so Prosecutor Distaso: Okay. Greg Reed (Scott’s friend): Prosecutor Distaso: Okay. What, let me, before I show you the report and refresh your memory, what did, what was Mr. Peterson's, how did he sound on the message? Greg Reed: The perfect word would be frantic. Stacey Boyers (Laci’s friend): Mark Mark Geragos: You got a call from Scott approximately what time? Stacey Boyers: 5:26. Mark Mark Geragos: Okay. He was already living in Southern California with friends and family. There was constant traffic driving by their home, media was camped out there, their home had been stripped of many items during the search warrants (none of which had any evidentiary value), radio DJs called out to him with bullhorns while airing their show live from in front of his house, his house had been broken into, and the volunteer center had shut down. So he was living essentially out his car and with family and friends in Southern California. The defense played the wire tapped recording from police where Scott specifically told John his brother that it's best he didn't play golf because the media were following him, and he didn't want another picture of him in the papers. You think he was fleeing to Mexico with his brothers ID in the bright red Mercedes without cashing his pay, checks, after filing his tax returns, with books for his neices and nephews in the car for the Easter Sunday the following week. He was already living with family and friends in Southern California due to the media presence at his house. His brothers ID gives him the green fee discount just like his father confirmed. Police were already aware that Scott was in southern California, and there is no testimony that he ever attempted to run off to Mexico. His father had planned for the four of them to get together that day to play golf. There was no attempt to evade police. Officers Quick and Limon testified that as soon as they put up their sirens, He immediately pulled over. Since when is getting pulled over at Torrey Pines in San Diego equate to fleeing to Mexico? Pwc "On April 13th, the body of a baby was found on the Richmond shoreline. On April 14th, the remains of a woman were found on the shore at East Bay Regional Park. There was widespread speculation that these were the bodies of Laci and Conner. The media presence at our homes in San Diego returned. At any given time, at least six media vans and satellite trucks were camped out at Scott's parent's house and at least three vans were at his brother Joe's house. Each arrival and departure was met with constant questions regarding Scott's whereabouts and the identity of the bodies. During that week, Scott had stayed with friends in San Diego, and with his sister, Susan, and her family in the Escondido area (also in San Diego County). On Wednesday, April 16th, Scott wrote down one partial and three complete license numbers of vehicles that were following him. Based on the media presence at our homes, Scott believed them to be private investigators hired by the media and indicated so in a fax to his attorney, Kirk McAllister. This fax was entered as exhibit D6W-5."

PWC. SCOTT PETERSON "When Scott was arrested, he had over $14,000 cash with him. Following is the series of events that lead to Scott having so much cash with him. This was testified to in court and bank records confirm it to be true. Most of these exhibits were not made public because they contain personal banking information. Scott’s pickup was in police custody and he wasn’t going to get it back anytime soon, so about a month after Laci went missing, Scott bought a Dodge Dakota pickup. Scott was still making a car payment on the truck that was in police custody and now had to make a payment on the Dodge. He soon realized this was not ideal, so Scott arranged to sell the Dodge to his brother John. Scott's mom, Jackie, was going to loan John $8,000 to buy Scott out of the Dodge. John was then going to take over the payments to the bank. Scott was then going to buy a cheaper car for cash and eliminate having a second car payment. On April 8, 2003, Jackie went to Bank of America to withdraw $10,000 from an old account she rarely used. She did not know her account number, so she gave them her social security number to look it up. Unbeknownst to Jackie, she was listed on Scott and Laci's checking account as well. (Jackie had opened that account with Scott in 1991. Scott added Laci when they were married and never removed his mother.) The bank gave Jackie $10,000 from Scott's checking account. The withdrawal receipt was entered as Exhibit D8Y1. Jackie paid Scott $8000 cash for his equity in the Dodge pickup. She paid him cash so he could better negotiate while shopping for a car. On April 12, 2003, Scott purchased a Mercedes from Michael Griffin. He paid him with 36 $100 bills. Scott had $4400 left of the $8000 his mother had given him. Scott then discovers the $10,000 withdrawal from his bank account. He sees the withdrawal ticket signed by his mom and calls her. Jackie realizes she mistakenly withdrew the money out of Scott’s account. Jackie then goes to Washington Mutual on April 17th and withdraws $10,000 cash out of her account. She gives the money to Scott that day to replace the money she took out of his account. She paid him in cash so that the bank would not put a hold on the funds. Scott now has roughly $14,400 in cash. Scott is arrested on the morning of April 18th. He had yet to deposit the money his mother had given him the day before. Scott also had some "foreign currency" with him when he was arrested. The 2 bills were photographed with other items and entered as People's Exhibit 293-29. One bill is worth 50 pesos and the other is worth 20 pesos. This is roughly worth $6.40 US. This is not an unreasonable amount of pocket change for someone who had recently returned from Mexico. This exhibit is sealed due to a personal check shown in the photo."

I'm just thankful that there are a lot more people who know he's guilty than are scrambling for anything to exonerate that monster. It's ridiculous. And please don't confuse the moral IP with the LA IP, who have taken on this farce for money and publicity. Big difference. Why do so many people not know this?

Sad that they still repeat the same tag lines from 20 years ago. Recorded calls. The affair. None of which does Scott ever admit guilt. All they do is reveal that Scott lies to women to get what he wants. As many men do who also are not murderers. There was absolutely no sign Scott wanted out of his marriage or didn’t want a baby. Amber had a kid for Christ sake. Many men cheat on their wives and even more on their pregnant wives. Yes it’s shameful but it is absolutely no indication of violent or murderous behavior.

@Harley57 it is not, this is the statement from the website of the national Innocence Project and official branches : On January 18, 2024, the Los Angeles Innocence Project filed motions seeking DNA testing and post-conviction discovery on behalf of its client, Scott Peterson. Any and all inquiries about Mr. Peterson’s case should be directed to the Los Angeles Innocence Project, a non-profit organization wholly independent of the Innocence Project.

He is guilty no doubt. Even his own mother knew he killed Laci and because she never liked her she was just annoyed that her son didn’t cover his tracks enough. A narcissistic mother and classic golden boy that could never do anything wrong. His behavior and actions were so off in so many ways and people think even though he cheated, told his mistress that his wife was already dead, bought hardcore porn channels right after his wife went missing, didn’t show remorse, went fishing in the exact location where his wife was found on the exact day she went missing, continued his affair as long as he could… that all of these are coincidences and people react to grief in different ways or something as far fetched as all the media attention lead the real killers to dump the body where he went fishing. The theories are ridiculous and if you look into the case you can see what a cold person he was and how disconnected he was from Laci when she was pregnant. He was literally grossed out by his wife because she was pregnant and as soon as he found someone to replace her he killed her.

The LA Innocence Project should change their name to the LA Gullible Project!! Everything about Scott screams guilty. He has all the devious narcissistic character traits that we've seen in so many of these cases plus his alibi was the same location as the body etc. However Ill keep an open mind since the LA Innocence Project do have a good reputation. And in fairness I have seen some bizarre cases with insanely weird coincidences that make innocent people look guilty. So if they have some game changing proof then lets see it. If they dont have something concrete tho then shame on them for bringing this up again. They really better have something new and indisputable. IF(and its a big IF) it wasnt Scott then wouldnt it be a serious plot twist if it turned out Amber did it coz she found out he was lying about his wife and set it up to make it look like he did it !!

I lost respect for the Innocence Project long ago when I discovered that they don't care if the person is guilty. They only care if they feel they didn't have enough evidence to convict. Them taking on the Peterson case sealed the deal for me. They have become a joke!!! They need to focus their time and attention on wrongly accused people that are actually INNOCENT! Not some baby killer and wife murderer.

I was 20yrs old following this case I’m now 40. I’ve always thought Scott was innocent or at the very least that the state didn’t prove he was guilty. The circumstantial evidence points to him being a womanizer which most travelling business men are. I travel for work and see it all the time. Men behave very badly when they are away from their wives. These men are awful people but they are not murderers. Scott will be free because the truth always comes out. People would rather entertain sensationalism than truth. You rather believe that a man who cheated on his wife is more capable of murder than people who would break and enter someone’s home on Christmas Eve of all days. No wonder Laci confronted them. That’s about as low as you get.

A lot of the comments I am seeing about how he is guilty, and that the Innocence Project should be ashamed of themselves. The innocence project has heard these exact same comments from people on previous cases that they have successfully overturned using DNA evidence. I think we should all wait to see what new evidence comes out before we pass judgement. Scott maybe a terrible human being but it doesn’t mean he is a murderer.
