It seems that many of Europe love this anthem. We, the British, cannot forget you, because you are part of us. The Norman Conquest, the Vikings, before them the Romans. We have a gift because we have been invaded. I love my European friends.

N/osi, Sikelele is only the first part. It was combined with the Afrikaans anthem "Uitdie blou van onse hemel" to 3:57 form a composite anthem which remains to this day.

Die Hymne ist schön gesungen. Kurz vorher hab ich die Hymne gehört mit Mireille Mathieu. Da kann diese Hymne mit mithalten. Sie hat mit soviel liebe und stolz gesungen einfach nur genial.

The thing is, the french people actually have a use and a reason for their anthem to exist compared to many other countries. Many other countries are just making their own anthem in order to have or they just stop using the full versions of their anthem to not hurt anyones feelings. The Marseillaise on the other hand still use the original version and they have a whole history of Revolution and all that behind them. Thats what makes the song so poetic and engaging

La Marseillsise is pretty as an anthem but has to have some of the bloodiest lyrics for a national anthem. You can almost feel the deaths of the French revolution in the words. Definitely powerful
