Hi Kurt! Thanks so much for doing this channel and helping the acting community!🙏 I loved your role on Cobra Kai so inspiring! I am an advanced actor here in Atlanta (as far as training, I’m sag, resume with indie work, I have an agent). I also do stunts- which are most of my credits. How can I book a private session with you for career focus? Just want to get an idea how to book a role on a sag production. I’m a little frustrated, I’ve been at this for years. I’ve literally done everything even writing and producing 5 shorts of my own. I’ve trained method and Meisner, self taping etc. I don’t want to take much of your time just hoping for any new ideas I haven’t thought of☺️

I’ve been watching your videos. This is great! I’m currently in my BFA right now. I’m considering moving to Atlanta or Chicago. It will be a couple years from now since I’m now in my 2nd year. I’m glad you guys have a great community. Where I am we have a huge theatre community, but not a huge film one. That only huge film that recently shot in buffalo was a Quiet place 2 and Marshall. So it’s nice to know that Atlanta has a theatre community as well!! My question is do I need a car in Atlanta? Is public transportation good?
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you will probably need a car in Atlanta. The public transportation here is not terrible, but it's not great either. I recently read an article ranking of the public transportation systems in 100 US cities and Atlanta was right in the middle at #47.

Thank you Kurt, another great video! I have a question: About international actors, first we build a good resume in our country and if we decide to try making a career at the US, do you still recomend going to Atlanta first, instead of L.A or NY?
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
There is no perfect answer to this question. Ultimately, it's a very personal decision. I feel like Atlanta was the right decision for me but many others may feel differently. I think people should also look at lifestyle factors as well. We shouldn't make our decisions solely based on acting. Some people prefer the lifestyle of LA and that is a big selling point.

How is texas for work? I’ve never taken classes yet but this has been my dream for so long at 33 years old already! I actually lined up a job and apartment in LA. But I dunno if I can handle the fast life, cost of living, and all the covid restrictions. Seems like every job mandates the jab. Would like to move to ATL I suppose or Miami. Im from Pennsylvania so I know Pittsburgh and Cleveland seem to have very minimal opportunities to travel to. Thank you!

I just checked the drama inc website and it looks great but I have a question: If I'm someone who has never studied acting at a university, does this type of course count as if I had studied acting at university? Or do these kinds of courses serve you as something extra after graduating from an acting college?
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
It's different. You don't get a degree or a certificate for taking classes at a private acting studio like Drama Inc. The goal with these types of classes is to improve your acting. Agents and casting directors don't care where you've trained or how you got your training, they only care that you can act and that's what these classes aim to do.

If I were to take a class from Drama Inc. online would I be able to list those classes on my resume? Or would I be able to list your classes, Kurt Yue, on my resume? Your videos have provided great knowledge to so many of us, and we are bound to leave each video with a greater understanding of the art. Also, am I able to list that I took Acting & Improve all through High School on my resume? Your videos have inspired me and so many others. I thank you greatly!
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
Generally, the classes that go on a resume are the ones that are interactive and you are performing and getting direct feedback from the instructor. My Zoom workshops don't really fit that description but I know some people are putting it on their resume anyway. High school acting and improv classes are find to put on a resume

@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what your definition of "better" is and where you are in your career. If you're talking about lead roles in movies and tv shows, then yes, there are more of those types of opportunities in LA. However, if you are an actor who is just starting their career, you would never get those auditions anyway. You need to prove yourself with smaller roles and supporting roles before anyone will trust you with a lead role audition.
