Rani was a great character. Specially, the crackling scene in the mithaai shop where she meets Dhanlaxmi. It was like a modern Yash chopra scene. But, wished someone else would played that character.

In reality Bongs may be more outspoken and opinionated, but not to the extent that they would share the quality of their sex-life with their dad. that never happens. and which journalist worth her salt would wear such bling sarees on jhikmik bras to a serious political debate on national TV? no one.

Anupama Chopra has always been biased with soft corner for Chopras, Johars,, Bhatts & Khans of bollywood. She will praise trash, unrealistic films made by these gangs to the skies, whereas hesitant to promote sensible movies like Article 370, Laapata Ladies etc.

commercial cinema can be classic, in fact more classics are commercial hits. The ones that did not do well and later find an audience would be called cult classics. Maybe Rocky and Rani might end up a classic, only time can tell. One thing that ties all classics together is their timelessness, about rocky and rani, it is just too early to tell, no?

Mughal-E-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Mother India, Guide, Deewaar, Sholay or even Zanjeer, Don for that matter ? Oh, come on, it's just an above average commercial entertaining film. That's all.

RRPK was so preachy ,one dimensional and silly in comparison to Lapataa ladies...in RRPK it seemed it just forcefully added all this feminism amd everything so that can win some browny points of critics and get validation for discussing and rani's charcter mostly deals things with very one dimensional manner and gets preachy over everyone

They are both great movies but very different genres. Just because RRKPK was a typical big Bollywood “Karan Johar” entertainer that on the surface may seem superficial, it doesn’t mean that within its genre and the universal it lived within…the movie was bad…actually it was a well constructed film with a similar message. She’s comparing how great the movies were within their own very different genres with a similar message.

I admire the effort but just one question popped in my head as a woman. Making a film mentioning the parda system which is not that rampant in hindu society nowdays or may be still exists, is definitely applaud worthy. Totally agree with 'chehra chhupana is pehchaan chhupana'. But would she have made a similar film on muslim women wearing burqa/hijaab which is increasingly embraced by not only Muslim women and the so called librals in the name of 'choice'! Why the creative exploration stops where it comes to a certain religion?

Very sweet film. Only thing that felt unfounded was the police officer's change of heart at the end. They dint hesitate to hit an innocent guy who came to lodge a complaint... But suddenly at the end they have a moral compass. Especially the woman officer- she thrashes a boy to make him 'sing' and later cringes when jayas husband hits jaya
