Translation:
At the sea, blue sea
There was a floating flock of white swans
And where did the gray-white eagle come from?
It dispersed the flock around the blue sea
White down rose to heaven,
Gray feathers fell on a green meadow
And who will collect these feathers?
- A beautiful girl
Tłumaczenie tekstu:
Na morzu, na błękitnym morzu
Tam pływały stada białych łabędzi
Z małymi łabądkami
A skąd się wziął szaro-biały orzeł
Rozgonił stado po całym błękitnym morzu
Biały puszek uniósł się do nieba
Szare pierze opadło na zielonej łące
A kto zbierze to pierze?
Zbierze je piękna dziewczyna
Many thanks to Asia and Huzy for hospitality and drumming!
Thanks to Raman for sharing this song with us, lyric and translation!
ABOUT US / O NAS:
Laboratorium Pieśni - Song Laboratory (world/ethno/spiritual/mystic folk music) is a female group of singers from Poland, created in 2013. Using traditional, polyphonic singing they perform songs from all over the world, mainly: Ukraine, Balkans, Belarus, Georgia, Scandinavia, Poland and many other places. They sing a capella as well as with shaman drums and other ethnic instruments (shruti box, kalimba, flute, gong, zaphir and koshi chimes, singing bowls, rattles etc.), creating a new space in a traditional song, adding voice improvisations, inspired by sounds of nature, often intuitive, wild and feminine.
Laboratorium Pieśni - Song Laboratory (world/etno/spiritual/mystic folk music) to trójmiejski, kobiecy zespół pieśniarek, powstały w 2013 roku. Grupa śpiewa i aranżuje tradycyjne pieśni polifoniczne: ukraińskie, bułgarskie, białoruskie, serbskie, albańskie, bośniackie, polskie, a także gruzińskie, skandynawskie, oksytańskie i wiele innych. Pieśni Świata wykonują zarówno a capella, jak i przy akompaniamencie bębnów szamańskich i innych etnicznych instrumentów (m.in. shruti box, dzwonków, przeszkadzajek, fletu, kalimby, mis, gongu), wnosząc w pieśni tradycyjne nową aranżację, przestrzeń improwizacji głosowych, inspirowanych dźwiękami natury, często intuicyjnych, dzikich, kobiecych.

How can appreciating one culture turn into sh*ttalking another so fast? This is beautiful music in a beautiful language and not a medium to spread your hatred. Do you even know how much Asian and Middle Eastern blood flows through our European veins for centuries? How much of Africas culture we adopted thousands of years ago? We all share the same ancestors. That's at least something you could respect.
@trinika267
@trinika267 6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call it very factually incorrect, but I must admit that I was coming from a cultural and linguistic point of view. Maybe there's more of a distinction between culture and genetics than I knew of so we might both be kind of right. I know for a fact, that our languages (Germanic, Baltic, Slavic and Romanic) stem from the reconstructed Indogermanic language, following speciffic linguistic markers. Those also closely tie Indic and Iranian languages to our European ones, implying that there was cultural exchange with the Middle East (which is part of Asia) due to migrating tribes. I also didn't mention Africa as the origin of humanity, because, as you already stated, that is yet a vague theory. I mentioned Africa thinking about Egypt as a highly developed culture a few thousand years ago and how it influenced the Helenistic cultures as well. In fact, all I'm talking about happened at least a thousand years ago. Maybe that's also something we should take into consideration, comparing our two, very different understandings of ancestry. But there's one point I stand by 100%: We do all have the same ancestors. It's in our genetics. It's the reason we can produce children with mixed ethnicity who as well are able to produce offspring. Everything living in this world has an ancestor who was one of the same one celled organisms swimming in the big first ocean of this planet. Of course that's taking it way too far back but it's still something we should be remindet of and that we should respect at least a little. So much for my little rant... thank you for taking your time to reply to my comment. Hope you enjoy the music. Have a great day.

You look at modern music, music that is mass produced and put out there into the airwaves... and it's not... "alive" like this. Music like this is like seeing the fires of spring rouse a cold, sleeping Earth. I think many could benefit from learning this style of singing. Even just listening to it. It is so spiritual, and speaks to the deepest parts of the soul.

@@TheAkwarium I'd say we _are_ such ancient humans. Our essence didn't change in the last two thousand years, and this song surely isn't older than that. We are and will always be part of nature; it's just that modern civilization puts us so far we sometimes forget it. But don't forget it. Everything we consume is still coming from nature; everything we produce is still going to nature.

You can spend your entire life without ever knowing it is there and what it is, but once you listen to something like this, if you are from Earth, you immediately feel it within you.

I saw this video on a facebook post and at that point I had no idea what language this could be and no clue on what this song could be about. But at the moment I played the video it hypnotized me, I felt a crazy energy watching these women, there is something special with the vibration of their voices. Amazing energy. Im very glad I found this channel and got the chance to know more about their work. You are all sacred women. Much love from Brazil.

It's up to us to save our heritage. Times changed, central and eastern Europe has to unite in common goal of bringing our people peace, prosperity and freedom of thought and speech. There are plenty of Polish folk groups that are saving old Slavic songs and bring them forth once more for us to listen to. Let's make sure nothing is lost. Poland and Belarus, we should be closer together like we were once before.
