I love her age in her face, in her stories, in her wisdom and in her confidence. You’ve got to live for a time to. have something to tell.

An immense debt of gratitude is owed to James Lipton. Through his many interviews, he illuminated the lives of actors for future generations. As for Mme. Moreau, she was a Renaissance woman with few equals. The quintessential queen of acting. Her candor and character are quite remarkable. A unique talent!

The French Bette Davis. She gave some of the most powerful performances in Cinema. Her smoky voiced charisma puts todays actors to shame.

Ooh don’t let her hear that. Apparently she was not a fan of Bette’s acting which she called mannered. “When people wanted to compliment my looks they compared me to Bette Davis. A very nice compliment only I can’t stand Bette Davis” 😢

@@TrangPakbaby Haven't heard that before. I doubt many actors want to be compared to another despite the comparison meant as a great compliment.

Bravo! Her approach to the craft of acting sounds and feels so philosophical( a depth and weight), but at the same time fully comprehendable to the listener like me who has no understanding, but find the craft fascinating. M Moreau illuminates for me the artistry, the talent, the conviction, and the respect that an actress embodies to bring these characters alive for us who enjoy and are inspired by the performance. Thank you...

Merci beaucoup. Irreplaceable Jeanne. If inspirational means something now that this word is used for anything and anybody, it should be used for Jeanne Moreau. Her words have always had the right echo in me and they have guided me somehow.

This was filmed about the time that I was traveling through Paris and found a Bistro near Gare Saint-Lazare. I was sitting there watching two loud artistic gentlemen who appeared to enjoy being spoken about by the patrons of the Bistro - less one - me. I had not idea who they were. In walks a majestic and wonderful lady. All the motion and talk in the room stopped. The lady sat with the two loud men and by coincidence, all three of them were within 3 - 4 feet of me. I was looking them all straight on. After a short time, the lady recognized that I did not realize who she was, she motioned to the waiter who evidently; told her that I was an American. Then she looked at me and spoke, "Do you know who I am?", she smiled as she asked me. I said, Yes, I know exactly who you are as you starred in one of my favorite movies but I am at a loss to know what to say". She smiled and then asked me if I knew who the two men were and of course, no. She smiled, then told me to have a good lunch and a great day.

Very good interview with the wonderful, iconic Jeanne Moreau. So much better than the Charlie Rose one. She and James Lipton have a much better rapport. I think Jeanne is the greatest. My favorite actress, and I don't even speak French. 😍😘😃☝👌💘👏👏👏😎

Seen several her great roles in films . Just came across this gem of a interview but must say sounds more a interrogation than a interview or story telling . Louie Malle , François Truffaut , far superior directors than US directors . Most the European ones were truly image makers , story tellers . As was Von Sternberg for Dietrich , Von Stroheim for Mae Murray , Rossellini for Ingrid Bergman these two men were for Jeanne .

Moreau may indeed be a "great actress." but the kind of fawning sycophancy displayed in the introduction is disgusting!
