Today we are going to go over lacrosse defensive positioning and keeping top side. As a lacrosse coach or player I’m sure everyone has heard the term top side. I going to go over exactly what that means and how we can perform that on the field.
In boys lacrosse top side is a really common phrase but as a coach I find that a lot of players really don’t know what that means. If you split in the field in half, keeping top side would mean we want to protect the middle of the field. As a defenseman we want to send everyone down towards the sideline and behind the goal.
