I played Lax in College and briefly dated (probably too formal for it, hung out, maybe) with a girl who played Women's Lax. I went to a game to root for her once. I caught up with her afterwards and was like "I think you did well, but I have no idea what was happening." I hadn't previously watched Women's lacrosse and didn't realize it's almost a different sport entirely. Fun though. There should be a women's PLL .

It's crazy seeing a video like this pop up in my YT recommendations. Like for years now subconsciously whenever I saw lacrosse in TV or film I broke down if it's accurate or not and if they're playing good lacrosse. It's interesting to see how lacrosse scenes play out and to see if they're accurate because of just how niche the sport is. Like, if there's a basketball/football/baseball/hockey scene you can usually assume it's gonna be accurate given how widely known those sports are. Lacrosse is the opposite.

He is right about the hockey goalie like stance. We have our catcher glove typically our right hand (depending on your strong hand) and our stick and block glove (it’s called that because it is like a giant pad on top of a glove) and we would be in pretty much the same leg position to be ready to do a butterfly to stop incoming pucks on the ice (a butterfly is where we flex our legs into a certain position to use our giant leg pads that go over our knees, chins, and a little bit of the thigh above the knee). I know all this goalie stuff because I am in a hockey (and becoming a lacrosse family because I am right now a defender in Venetia, PA) and I used to be a goalie (at least I tried but didn’t really like it much because I don’t have flexible legs) so yeah.

Seems like these are all a little old and not very accurate representation of lacrosse would love to see a newer version that greatly depicts lacrosse. Let’s make it happen and it’ll help grow the game!!!

The grizzlies is based of a true story now there are a bit that is added. And I l ow who made the movie and a bunch of the players that were on the other teams like the guy that did the btb and a bunch of other people. If you look at the cast it will say I think 3 Rai’s 2 Wilson’s and a couple of other people but they weren’t main actors

just a little back round info on the crooked arrows clip being "racist" if I recall correctly there was a pair of twins on the team and that line was meant to showcase tha, and not how native people "look similar because of braids". Also I believe the broadcaster messing that up was to show how bad/unrecognized the team was at that point in the movie. I agree that thist scene did not age well in todays social climate and was a poor choice of lines, but with full context it is apparent that this was not intended to be a racist or culturally assumed remark

When the goalie took a shot to the helmet and fell ,my team’s goalie actually took a shot to the head and it made him fall just like the teen wolf goalie
