As a punjabi woman i am ashamed this happens in our community but it reminds me how fortunate i am to have a family like mine. My maternal grandfather would go around his village celebrating whenever he was gifted with a baby girl and anyone who disrespected his daughters would never be allowed to step foot in their home. He moved to Canada in the 1970s to make sure his daughters would have a good life and for that i am forever grateful.

If Nina isn’t worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize, I don’t know who is. What an incredible human being.

It struck me when she referred to her family dog as a person when she herself was treated like a dog her whole upbringing. That dog was kind in that moment and became more than just a dog. Kindness is our greatest trait.

Most people will never reach the level of strength and dignity this woman has. I can only hope the future holds joy and peace for her.

Her father brought shame upon his family NOT Nina. A man who would do that to his own daughter is a pervert!

I am originally from India. When my sister was born, my father celebrated by handing out sweets and inviting people for drinks. Everyone in the village called him an idiot for celebrating the birth of a girl. My father raised us right by making sure that we did not follow the idiotic ideas of passing on condolences on the birth of a girl. I have one son and one daughter. My brother has one daughter. My sister has two daughters and a son!!!! So yeah, we broke the idiotic thinking from back home!!!

How exactly she grew up this caring, intelligent and motivated is absolutely beyond me, what an incredible person

Honour Killings are protected as a “cultural crime”? That is INSANE and completely unjust! The law around this needs to be looked at, addressed and changed as soon as possible. Murder is Murder. Women of different cultures shouldn’t fear being killed at the hands of their parents or partner. This is the UK and everyone should be protected and feel safe. I’m with you Nina and I’ll be doing research to help support your non-profit.

So while going through absolute hell having been brought up in an unbelievably awful environment, surviving a murder attempt and while raising children she managed to start a business that made her a millionaire and now she runs a non-profit to save others from the same situation...I think she is the most impressive person I have ever heard about.

Her mother probably doesn't sleep at night at all. That dog was something truly amazing. He demonstrated more compassion than any human in that household.

Nina is a really strong woman. She went through all of that as a teenager and then almost murdered in her 20s to then being abused ONCE AGAIN and raped by her unemployed partner who was living off of her money and suffering a miscarriage due to that partner's abuse. And then when she was in her darkest moment, she still strived to live and then learnt her unknown sister was sold as human trafficking at such a young age?? The fact that Nina still forgave her family members for what they did to her and that she is helping people get out of abusive situations, tells me all I need to know about her. Nina is an incredible human being and she survived the worst and she deserves so much more recognition

How on EARTH is it taboo to have a child out of wedlock when raping someone, let alone your own daughter, isn't taboo???! I truly don't understand this mentality! I'm so angry for her and every woman who has had to live through the same thing in their own family.

Life long abuse.. barely escaping an honor killing attempt, getting abused and assaulted again.. and she still worked so hard, started multiple businesses and became a millionaire??? Wow. I'm at 38 year old white man, born and raised in poverty and foster care mostly, in eastern Kentucky. I was tortured, beaten, starved, drugged and raped. All more times than I could count. Both in and out of foster care. It left me broken by the time I even could spell the word broken. I've been in mental health treatment since I was first placed into foster care, around the age of 4 1/2 - 5 years old. Watching the first part of her story, I could relate on so many levels. I was speechless clicking on this video to watch afterwards and finding out it's her all over again. It's almost like my life in a way, because even after I turned an adult, I too, ended up in horrible relationships with horrible women, or even good women that I, myself couldn't love, because I didn't love myself. Ended up in Prison, where the same traumas that I went through as a kid, ended up being done to me again, by both inmates and guards alike. Kentucky has both a broken and savage foster care system as well as jail/prison system. It amazed me while I was inside, and even amazes me now, how they get away with it. It's mind blowing how they break every human rights law in the world, and can still operate without being held accountable, while you sit in there, under their supervision, watching them do it, being held accountable for what you did. I got out after 10 years, completely served out my sentence, no parole, on a non-violent, non-sexual offense of burglary and theft. I dreamed of getting out, only to basically go into shock when I did. I went to stay with a penpal in Seattle, WA, to leave Kentucky asap. Only to find out he'd been lying to get me to WA, and so I left his place. Now I'm still in WA, and haven't had a single run in with the law or abusers since. Instead, I'm bed or chair bound, with a messed up back and mind, on welfare, fighting to try and get my disability. Meanwhile, everyone acknowledges that I have all these mental and physical problems, but my welfare insurance won't pay for the only medicine that gives me peace. So living off ramen noodles and mac n cheese, I live through the internet, dreaming while I live through others lives. Wishing I had gotten a chance to have a life anything remotely close to normal or being valued as a person, wishing someone would find me, help me with medicine, or just come visit me. Only good thing in my life, are my cat, dog, and fiance that I met shortly after getting to Seattle. She's so amazing, and I wouldn't be able to type out my story, if it weren't for her and her love and support through all my struggles and flaws. She helps as best she can, but like this young woman's story, sometimes you just have to wonder. When or if at all, does the suffering stop? When do I meet one of these kind souls I see all over the internet helping people, or being nice to people? Because I've only met my fiance, and that's it. 38 years of living, and only one person that noticed me and decided I was worth having around. I hope this woman was able to find the peace I crave so badly today. It's a process, and a very long process. Maybe in the next life, I'll be reborn into a normal life or something close to it haha. Hoping to god, that she might be able to help me get the medicine I need. I just wanna heal my mind and spirit, and start helping others. I can't help people in need, if I can't afford to help myself. Ketamine works amazing for PTSD and Treatment Resistant Depression and Anxiety. Sadly, it's also very costly and my savings are drained out and gone now, because of it. It's really difficult to feel a one year break in your PTSD and Depression, after 30+ years of torment mentally, only to have to return to the mental hell, because a cheap drug to make is heavily priced by big pharma. I'm in the U.S.A., and I'm astonished that this is allowed to go on in the U.K.. I was in an abusive home as a youngster until I was sent to my grandparents in another state, and Grandma treated me like gold. I'm so sorry you suffered to such a degree. Thank you for your hard work on behalf of other sufferers, and for the work you do to change the dynamic of abuse. Abusers must be held accountable - commensurate with their crimes.

It’s so remarkable that Nina can be so respectful when referring to her ‘partner’ and ‘parents’. She possesses such dignity and strength. A true hero.

Who and where are her parents? Her inlaws? Her brother? Her family? Everyone that abused her? If the law can't or won't put them behind bars, let the internet and the people bring justice into their own hands. This woman has been through hell and is still being harassed and haunted by those evil people. So let fire handle fire. Reveal them! This makes me so angry I just want them to experience all she suffered and MORE!

This is one remarkable woman! Such courage, such intelligence, such fluency in expressing herself, yet full of compassion and wisdom. May God protect her and her children, and give her many more years to help others.

When she said "I was at that time a millionaire" after she detailed how she wanted both her children to only know love and that she wanted to break her generational curse, that's when I realized "this woman has everything to make it out, she has the mindset, the means, and the strength, all she needed at the time was to believe in herself." It's really heartwarming to see that, despite all the horrors one could face, they could be this resilient and persevering, learn who they are as a person, realize what their true worth is, and go on to become such a beautiful human being. I truly hope nothing remotely negative ever happens to this woman again in her life.

Imagine her low self esteem that even with all her success, she still was not able to leave her partner. You are an amazing woman and I just hope you know this by now. All the best to you.

Nina, i want to talk to you: you are not stupid, you are not ugly, you are not fat...but you are an Angel, a beautiful, sweet angel and your voice is like a spiritual music...i live in Italy (sorry for my bad English...) but I would consider myself very honored and lucky to be your friend. Nina's story illustrates how profoundly children are scarred psychologically from abuse and neglect. Even as an exceptionally successful business owner, she still didn't have enough self-worth to leave an abusive man.

My mom said the exact same thing about how her parents taught her how to not be a parent and how she said as a teenager she would never make her kids go through what she had to endure. My mom, even though she went through severe mental abuse, debilitating beatings, being abandoned each weekend to survive on her own in the canyons of Nevada so her parents didn't have to feed her, and molested by her step father and half brother, she turned into the kindest, hardest working, most selfless person I have ever known to this day. I really admire people like this women who can go though so much torture in life, yet still be a gentle soul, god bless her.

I’ve watched the previous video about her story… I just, couldn’t believe her own family did those things to her. And aren’t in jail!?? And they still continued to send her death threats, like- Please tell me they were finally arrested … She’s a super woman, really.
