The joker making jokes is my favorite

Jason immediately hitting him after that one really elevated it imo. Idk how much the original comic immortalized that crowbar versus any of the media that came after. But Jason reacting to the word "crowbar" certainly boosted it.

I just realized something; when he says, "One with the crowbar". That implies he still has it... He kept the weapon he used to kill bird boy.

The writer is Judd Winnick. Who wrote the comic this movie is based on. And yes he does deserve a bonus.

Very matter-of-fact humor when he tells a joke than the goody, murderous humor we usually see. Still crazy, but an interesting and entertaining take for this Joker.

I also love how watchmojo described his portrayal, which is very accurate: "DiMaggio portrays the Joker as a more calculating villain, replacing clinical insanity with genuine malice and cruelty, with his deeper, more mocking voice, DiMaggio nails it at portraying one of the darkest incarnations of the sadistic jester."

He and The guy who voices the Joker in Batman2004 cartoon are my favorites along with Mark Hamil

I think Hamill is remembered as “thinner” because of the redesign/ Arkham. His design in the original animated series and Phantasm is a unit who dwarves nearly everyone besides Batman. I think Joker is meant to be larger than you’d expect a clown to be, and that’s part of why he’s so imposing. Even Ledger was 6’1”, imagine if he was 5’8”; the effect isn’t the same

Juliano Augusto I personally LOVED DiMaggio's Joker almost as much as Hamill. Close second for sure but God damn did it set a high bar. His laugh alone brought something new to the table and sent so many shivers down my spine. His dialogue was also extremely funny and dark, just like The Joker is supposed to be. Much darker than Hamill but good Lord I loved every second. I hope he gets the role again someday. Because it is phenomenal. I could see him voicing the New 52 version of Joker.

OllieBlazin Eww...with or without his face? Either way, it's always Hamill's version with me. It's the laugh. No one can match the insane cackle Mark Hamill works up. You have the quick giggle, the menacing chuckle, the mad cackle and finally the shrieking laughter usually only seen in life or death situations (see Joker's final laugh in "Mask of the Phantasm"). I spent years practicing that and the best I can do is the giggle and menacing chuckle.

I think it's the scariest Joker. Not over the top maniacal, just deranged and driven.

He ironically feels really human, which makes him seem even more sick/deranged. The other designs and voices are great, but they feel so detached from reality you don’t see him as a human but just a comic villain. In this movie he seems frighteningly real

His face structure and the eyes remind me so much of The Batman’s Joker, one of my favorite Joker designs.

he's also written a bit more like the gary nolan/heath ledger joker, where while he's in some ways more grounded and human, he's also more 'committed to the bit' and a truly fearless psychopath, whereas we occasionally see the animated series/mark hamil joker 'break 'the bit' and show himself to be a bad sport and fundamentally a coward, if a very sadistic one.

The notes are right but its lacks the same umph Hamil's had. Still a good laugh and it is fitting for this joker. Putting Hamil's version to this wouldn't work as that version is a slight bit of camp to it while this version is much darker and sadistic.

He added something of his own to this Joker. Hammil is certainly best, BUT, J DM brought more darkness to Joker. Was it director's choice, or his own, no matter. Cause this darker Joker is awesome! It is smth that Hammil's Joker misses a bit, though his is currently closes to what Joker should be like. :)

The point is that Heath Ledger's Joker was so incredibly inspiring that he basically changed the formula of Joker's personality. He is now less clownish, deeper voice, his insanity is much darker, he is more violent and he doesn't use acid flowers and lethal palm-buzzers as much.

Maya Leia which fits much better with our jaded 21st century US than the mid 20th century USA joker.

Here's how I feel. 5: Bender (John DiMaggio) 4: Heath Ledger 3: Troy Baker 2: Jack Nicholson 1: Mark Hamill Personally, I feel that Jack Nicholson is scarier and more accurate as the Joker in comparison to Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger did bring something new to the table, but I still prefer Jack.

+Crusism I personally really like Heath because his Joker does not want to kill Batman. In my opinion, having the Joker want to kill Batman dumbs down his character and makes him too basic. My favourite versions of the Joker do not want to kill Batman; They want Batman to kill him. The entire point of the Joker is that he sees life as a gigantic cruel joke and that all you can do is just laugh at it and go crazy. The Joker does what he does to try to show that to everyone and get them to see his POV. The Joker sees a special relationship with Batman that Batman doesn't see. To Joker, Batman is the yin to his yang, the straight man to his funny man. The Joker wants Batman to be around as so to serve as a foil for his own antics, to show just how terrible everything is and how insanity is the only option. Eventually, the Joker wants his relationship with Batman to culminate with Batman killing the Joker and falling into the same pit of insanity that the Joker did. THAT is why Heath Ledger's Joker is so good. The only reason IMO that Mark Hamill is higher on my list is because of his voice.

Why are the voice actors getting so much undeserved credit? I'm guessing someone else wrote the lines, the story and so on.. this is not just their take on the joker, this is the take of many.

Yeah it's his face and voice, but when I watch the film I don't see Ryan Renalds I see Deadpool. Similarly, when I hear John DiMaggio coming out of the Joker, I don't hear Jake the Dog, or Bender, I hear The Joker.

I figure he most likely asked a vending machine for it politely, and when it dispensed only one bag of chips, he proceeded to shatter it and scatter all the chips out through the streets of Gotham. Little did the poor citizens know that every chip was individually laced with a tinge of the active ingredients in The Joker's gas, causing an eruption of laughter and death within the immediate area before it was cordoned off. Joker walked away with a bag of chips in hand, smiling.

I think the scariest thing about his performance is that he sounds normal, but he gets into insane fits of insanity like his laughs

DiMaggio's Joker is epic in my opinion, the deep voice really brings out the psycho in him. It's like the more experienced, battle hardened version of Joker. Troy Baker and DiMaggio are second place to Hamill's Joker (it is legendary, after all), and 2004's "The Batman" animated series' Joker Kevin Richardson is third. All others are pretty much unknown to me.

***** I've finished Injustice Gods Among Us and I didn't really like the Joker in it.

The best part is the contrast with how childish his personality is here. He acts like his parents took away one of his toy cars. (But he still shows he's the boss, and making a villain both childish and menacing seems difficult without making them insane.)

***** Spitting out the water to temporarily blind the guy or crumpling it up and quickly cramming it down the guy's throat, there's more than one way to kill/maim a guy with a paper cup full of water.

I wonder if Joker killing Bartholomew Wolper with the coffee cup in the Dark Knight Returns movie was a reference to that scene. He certainly didn't do it that way in the comic version.

It implies that the Joker after all these times knows who Bruce Wayne is, but just doesn't say nothing to keep the cat and mouse chase going, in return Bruce (unless in a different dimension) never kills the Joker because if he did he would be no better off than him.

Its been so long since theyve been at it that a lot of us thinks that Joker knows who batman is. But he doesnt give a shit about that. He doesnt care about Bruce Wayne.. Just the Batman..

Troy Baker is a good substitute for Hamill. DiMaggio is an amazing replacement for Ledger.
