Lady Danbury was a queen without the crown. I just love how she was so fearless.

I already knew she was going to be my favorite when the Duke attempted to "send his regrets" for not attending her ball, and she said, "Your regrets......are DENIED."

I love how Lady Danbury stepped into the motherly role after she realized Simon was still alive and well. BRAVO.

Excellent Actress. She reminded me so much of my Mother who has passed on. Not many people can Scold and show Love within the same sentence. She disciplines and shows love at the same time. Awesome and very believable acting.

Aside the stars Daphne and Simon, Lady Danburry carries the show. She is a great actress, beautiful, glamourous. She lights up every scene she appears in, she carried season 1. I love the way she is a free soul, the way she protects Simon. I would love to see her more in the coming season. I love every scene she's featured in from Den of iniquity to when she told told Simon "promise me when you step in the light, you will be worth the attention you command" Then we see them walking into the ballroom hand in hand and Simon enjoying the attention he commands.. My other part is when he told Simon 'You are a fool" and the last rain scene.. LOL.. I love Andoh and would love to age well like her :-)

It's a difficult role to portray in the 18th century, let alone today. Adjoa Andoh portrays it so very well. It's a joy to watch her, and indeed when she speaks you listen. She's the ride or die friend that still takes care of you after you die. She made sure that Simon was taken care off for his mother's sake.

the clip at 31 seconds....can we get more of that scene? That whole scene should be seen by everyone, especially parents of special needs kids. My son has had speech issues from the start, at 7 he's still struggling, but as Lady Danbury says, we can hear him "well enough". This scene needs more attention for just how amazing it is. And as we see, he grows up beautifully thanks to her support and never giving up on him. So many kids out there need that same support, even if they can't fully overcome it, they can still go a long way and be the best 'them' they can be. I'm typing this 3 years later 'cause I was re-watching for season 3 and was trying to find a clip of that scene isolated, but this is the best I could find of it, so I thank you for including at least this part of it in here. ^_^

This conversation in the carriage was to make him realize that he should take a step towards Daphne, not leave her to the prince. Lady D could see that there was something between Simon and Daphne.
