I used this tutorial for Halloween this year - thank you so much. The video was incredibly instructive and detailed. You're very talented. I got so many compliments and just wanted to pass one on to you :)

Sponges work really well (I had the same issues as you at first). Get the paint to a nice workable consistency, not so runny that it dribbles down your face, and then apply roughly all over, as the face paint starts to dry a little dab with a face paint sponge (you can buy those anywhere they sell face paint) and you will begin to get a nice even coverage, be careful not to dab too much as it gets close to being completely dry as this tends to take the paint off again. You can add more layers.
