I loved her calling out the artists who lip sync! No one wants to go to a show with lip syncing. That's one of the many reasons why I also love Katy Perry. She may not have the best raw vocals, but at least she actually sings. I think theatrics are amazing in a show, but it shouldn't replace vocals. I love how Gaga and Katy do both. not that I'm comparing them, I hate that people have been comparing Katy and Gaga. I have tickets to both the Artpop Ball and the Prismatic World Tour, and both of them are gonna have me crying afterwards. I love them both so much! Backing track. That is what Gaga uses. She can't dance an entire routine and sing a fast paced song at the same time. She is a human. She has real talent and you could hear in her shows that her voice is legit and genuine. She never lip syncs. People that say she does are irrelevant for the fact they don't know the difference between backing track and lip sync. Just go comment nice things on the artist you like instead of coming to Gaga and trying to come at her for doing something she has never done. And never will do. X

she is just concerned to everyone who buy tickets for a good show not just for a good LIP SYNC. You buy ticket because you want to see the artist and you want to hear them live but LIP SYNC in a show? its better to buy the audio in iTunes than to spend a lot of money to hear them LIP SYNC

I feel like the only time it's acceptable to lip sync, if that the artists isn't feeling well, and their voice is actually shot because of it. It would be terrible to cancel a concert because of the illness. So it least they are trying to put on a show, even if they're not feeling 100%. But lip syncing just because you don't want to sing, is like a big "fuck you" to your fans, and she is so right on that.

There's a difference between lip syncing and having the track playing in the background. Gaga always the chorus of the track she's performing playing in the background.. she still sings it though. I've never seen her lip sync ever. I've been to 3 of her concerts and she's amazing live.

Reading some comments really was amusing. Because it's obvious that many don't know the difference between lip-sync and a backing track.

Lip synching should be a criminal offence. As she pointed out, If I pay to go to a concert, I want the singer to sing. Otherwise I'd rather sit at home and listen to the digital track. Live pop is ALL about dancing and theatricality these days. The music is secondary. No self respecting artist should call themselves a singer if they lip sync and give the excuse of "dancing and singing is hard". I don't want to see you dance. We have dancers for that who do it better. If you call yourself a singer, I want to hear you sing.

I think Lady Gaga is very comfortable with who she is. It seems others are the ones that don't know who she is. Every time I've seen her, she has put on a good performance. She is amazing singing with Tony Bennet, and I applaud her for contributing to a genre that has been declining for years in the onslaught of contemporary insta-gratification commercial pop. I've never heard her say that she is a songwriter or that she contributes in any other way than with her beautiful voice.

To those saying that she should stop "attacking" Britney, consider this : If the mere fact that saying the words "artist shouldn't lip-sync" or some variant of that makes you systematically think of Britney Spears... then maybe this is an actual problem (particularly with Britney) and you're just proving Lady GaGa's point... again!

Britney is Britney. We come to see her and we know she can sing. But her voice isn't as strong to keep a note while moving around so much. It's literally about the muscle you use while singing. People like beyonce have such big chops that they are strong enough to dance and jump and belt. Same with gaga. Everyone is different.
