I had been attached to my hair since I was little, but when I was 5 I donated my hair to wigs for kids, simply cut it and handed it to the lady and I was happy. I used it to hide my face, my shames and insecurities. I blasted this song when I was getting my hair cut and cried my eyes out, a weight was lifted and I could finally keep my head up. The color was only a few shades darker than mine, but when I washed it out and I looked in the mirror. In that moment, for the first time I was happy to look in a mirror. I saw that my hair could be my outward expression of the imagination and art in my mind. It was a canvas. I've never looked back. My hair is different all the time. Today I re-bleached my hair (I had a nice silver) and decided to bleach my brows, too. I was so unsure of what I'd done to my brows, and about an hour later, I saw this. It couldn't have come at a better time. I was so scared, but only of what other people thought. And as always, Mother Monster scooped me out of my sadness and fear. (Also, my hair and brows look amazing.)
