I remember she was doing an interview about the meaning of this video on MTV. She said it was about loving yourself first before you love someone else. As far as the whole "making love with the mermaid" thing, she said sometimes no matter how hard you try, or how much you love someone, sometimes you just can't make it work. At least not until you learn to love yourself first. This video is full of metaphors that are ignored. She's a genuine musician/artist and not your typical "pop star". She's a lot smarter than people make her out to be. I feel the best is yet to come from her. She's WAY too talented to stay in the pop genre. She may not be on top of the world like she was in 2009-2011 but every artist has their ups and downs. I'll just patiently way until she finds herself again and comes up with a great theme that'll showcase her artistry and talent, because I know it's in there somewhere waiting to awakened.

I think this is the best song by GaGa so far: the electric guitar gives me the pop from '70s vibe, like a song from Queen. Also the piano gives me the idea of a country ballad that would also be great with just an acoustic guitar. I have no doubt that this is a pop masterpiece, completely underrated in my opinion.
