Lady Starlight was released on The Scorpion's 1980 album Animal Magnetism. No other band mastered the rock ballad like The Scorpions, just one amazing song after another including; Always Somewhere, Holiday, Still Loving You, When The Smoke Is Going Down, Winds Of Change, and on and on.
This song was one of the very first videos that I envisioned when deciding to undertake this project. For some reason, it wasn't one of the first videos I attempted and for that I'm glad as I've gotten a bit more advanced in my abilities, and the end result does the song better justice.
The video is really not very complicated as I wanted to keep the video as simple as possible. I tried to limit the images, but it was hard as there are so many beautiful pictures relating to the subject matter.
Watching the video now, I see that I failed to correct a few timing issues with some of the video edits as I had intended to do during the final touch up phase.....that's what happens when it gets too late and you rush to upload. If the continue to bother me too much, I may have to take the video down and correct them.....we'll see.
Finally, a HUGE THANKS to Harles99 ( / harles99 ) and Hosiyas ( / hosiyas ) for their beautiful time lapse photography.....which brought something special and unique to the video. Please visit their sites and check out the extraordinarily beautiful works they have uploaded. Just amazing.

I lost my older sister 9 months ago. She introduced me to heavy metal back in the early 80's and she absolutely loved the Scorps. Didnt see it coming but I cried for the first time since she passed while listening to this beautiful song. Will forever miss her

This brings me back to a 16 year old who was playing this on his guitar some 30 years ago, then he played the album for me and I was hooked. Him and I became best friends, brothers. He died 25 years ago and this song will always remind me of him and the music that we jammed too. It brings me back to a time when all we cared about was music. I miss ya Joe, my friend, my brother

I know how you feel my friend. In 94 i lost my brthr and in 96 i lost my dad and in 2005 i lost my mom and two yrs prior to that got divorced after 20 yrs. We know where we are born but we never know where we will end at... Just a born survivor.... What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger..

Bought the album when it was released in 1980 as a 19 year old. I cannot remember how many times I played this song on the guitar or how many times I listened to this track to feel the raw emotion of Meine and Jabs awesome guitar solo. I used to walk back home using much longer routes than necessary just to be able to plug the walkman and listen to in absolute solitude. I cannot even begin to describe it. Memories which money just can buy.

Every sweet note ..if there were actual heartstrings,this tune would hold the golden strings that permeate a melody so perfect .i close my eyes, and I'm young, I'm loved, and I"m filled with love. The night is cool and crisp with feathery white clouds backlit by a radiating moon . I can feel my love's firm warm body,his arms moving along my back, caressing my neck and holding my face to his. And even though it's nightfall, I can read his face when he pulls back to look into my eyes and smiles softly before pulling me in close again. We will be one,and I don't need to hear him speak.i know his hungry love. Life is sweet.great song. Marcia in Modesto

Stumbled across this song in 1999 while stationed in Korea. Saw me through many a night...alone....half the world away from all I'd known... A song so beautiful...and still so hauntingly sad....but I cannot ever turn away from it. Too many memories of a time when this song is what I had, and what got me through, day by day....

This song transcends time and space...perfect for listening to in summer, in total darkness...as katydids sing along in the Ga.pines. It opens with the very lonely guitar solo by Michael..as Klaus joins in and together they take you up to the stars in hopes of finding your love that completes you...not isolates you and vice-versa. This song then concludes with a very hopeful resolution we all wish for...the reason we look to the stars...twinkle, twinkle little stars how I wonder...

Rudolf is a great Guitarist. But Matthias is the main lead guitarist. Hes got alot of memorable guitar solos and some of the best in rock and metal ever to this day. But The Scorpions are legends as we all know. 👍

Decades ago, this song captured my imagination and emotion. Even without the lyrics, the music exudes the sense of a winter evening. Back in the day, the needle made many repeated half inch travels from the end of the song to it's beginning grooves. Thanks, MGM, for capturing and editing so well the imagery and movement to accompany this song.

I was a young teenager late 80s..... could it be so long ago...????? what that makes me..?? old men ..??? I realy dont believe how time passed so much........ makes me sad...........What can i say....... hope I could listen to music till end of time....................

KQRS here in the Twin Cities use to do a Friday night 6 pack starting at midnight. Six albums this was one of them one particular summer night in the early 80's. I remember being so impressed with Animal Magnetism I bought it the next day.
