What makes Lady Tremaine the most horrifying Disney villain is that she’s grounded completely in reality. People like her actually EXIST and commit horrible acts upon their victims.

I remember hating Lady Tremaine, but after learning that she became bitter after she lost her true love, her husband, I don't hate her as much. I think it makes her look more human than villainous. Great video, by the way!

This isn't exactly the theory I envisioned. I thought she was born in a family of low class servants. She tried to rise from her depression by marrying a wealthy man (Cindrellas father) but he was already in love with a beautiful young woman (Cindrellas mother) She grew envious because she thought he favored her purely because of her superior beauty, though it was really for true love. She later fell in love with and married Francis Tremaine. Upon his death when her daughters were young, she was about to lose her fortune. Opon hearing that the rich man she tried to marry earlier lost his wife to the same disease that killed her husband, (Was there an epidemic at the time?) she decided to take advantage of this opportunity offer to be his second wife. Wanting a mother's care for his young daughter, and taking sympathy on the widow and her young daughters, he accepted her hand.

Lady Tremaine is at one of the top spots for scariest Disney villain. She didn't even accomplish that spot by murder, magic, or weapons. She's just realistic.

I say she is the horrible stepmother cause no matter what no one should be treated the way Cinderella was treated,Cinderella was a nice respectable young woman who just wanted a better life for herself

Lady Tremaine is so cruel, she is awful. She constantly humiliates Cinderella, someone who never did anything bad to her. And for the people who say that Cinderella is weak, she isn't. She was strong enough to not became someone full of hatred after so many years of being treated like a slave. Cinderella is good and kind, while Lady Tremaine and her daughters evil and despicable characters.

I’m surprised Lady Tremaine didn’t just find a way to bring back her original husband. I mean she was holding a wand that could literally give her anything she wanted. I guess she was too deep within her jealousy and hatred of Cinderella that she didn’t think of it.

Hey Isaac! I have a fan theory about Cinderella actually being a Descendant of Belle from Beauty and the Beast! Let me explain. In the live action version of Beauty and the Beast, Agathe the Enchantress has cursed the Beast and his servants. She stays to see if he could break her curse and eventually he does with Belle’s help. They soon have a family of two and before they passed away they divided the kingdom with the two children. One of them remains but the other decided not to inherit his fortune. He decided to become a businessman in trading and he successfully does well that he settled down and married a woman in the countryside. He wanted to experience the kind of adventure that his mother had when she young. Then they have a daughter called Ella. Ella’s father taught her what he learned from his parents. He taught her his love of books and knowledge about everything, teaching her Shakspeare just like how Belle taught Beast about him as well. Making Ella knowledgeable about how to take care of her home and herself. With Ella’s mother she taught her to Have Courage and Be Kind. But then an untimely event happens when Ella’s mother passes away, leaving behind her husband and daughter. Just like when Belle’s mother dies of the plague she leaves behind Belle and her father. With that Belle’s and Ella’s relationship with their fathers becomes more closer. Soon Ella’s Father remarried and soon pass away like his wife. Leaving Ella with her horrible Stepmother and stepsisters cruelty. It's at this time where Agathe comes in again, this time through decades she later becomes a fairy godmother and she stays behind to see what has become of Belle’s Descendants. She sees Ella in the same position that Belle was in, Forced to stay confined in a fortress and live among a Beast. Making the Beast represent the Stepmother instead at a time when the Beast was cold and cruel. When Ella remains behind with her dress torn instead of going to the ball Agathe finally comes out and rewards Ella’s Courage and Kindness. She has changed her appearance due to that the time through generations is vastly changing all the time. Agathe has always be there with Ella ever since her mother says that she believes in fairy godmothers. In the animated films of Beauty and Cinderella, we see that they resemble one another in their appearances. They’re both courageous, intelligent, and kind to everyone. Cinderella has blue eyes instead of brown like Belle, Cinderella inherited Beast’s blue eyes instead. Also in Cinderella we see glass domes of a single rose and roses in the hallway on the right side of the attic’s door entrance and then another the right side of the door of Anastasia's room, and lastly downstairs before Cinderella leaves crying after her dress was torn but instead of a rose it's something else. I always thought Lady Tremaine was a wonderful villain. She's so realistic, she doesn't have powers but it's scary because it makes you think there could really be people like her. And she has real motives, she's not evil just for the sake of being evil or to "take over the world". She freaks me out more than a lot of villains haha

I personally was kinda scared of Lady Tremaine as a child, but I was TERRIFIED of the Evil Queen in Snow White. (I over came my fear of her THIS SUMMER LOL I watched the movie on vacation and it was VERY good!!)

Frollo treated Quasimodo alot bett than Lady Tremaine did for Cinderella he was the most destructive villein of all time.

Can you do Anastasia? She, singlehandedly, is my favorite disney girl. The way she gets her redemption arc in the sequels is honestly astounding (which I would argue, has the best character development of the WHOLE Cinderella series) it is a shame she isn't as fleshed out in the 2015 live action :( I really wanna see her and the baker together :(

Cruel and icy as Lady Tremaine is, she is second only to the Evil Queen. These two villianesses set the bar for Disney stepmothers, in my opinion. As always, a great video. Keep up the good work.

Lady Tremaine is one of the few Disney villains who has a strong presence. Her intimidation is subtle but very noticeable.

In the original 1950 animated Cinderella, does anyone think that Lady Tremaine killed her first husband, then married Cinderella's father, then killed HIM?

I think what makes Lady Tremaine so scary is that the kind of villain she is (abusive guardian) is so true to real life. She doesn't use magic or even physical violence. Her power lies in her authority and control of Cinderella's livelihood.

Also, Doris from Meet the Robinson is one of the best and most underrated maniacal villains Disney has and ignores.

Out of the first three villains of Disney Princess movies she was deffinitly the most well rounded character.

I loved it! Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess. Lady Tremaine's story was good. And to me, she IS the most evilest Disney villain ever.

No one ever mentions Ever After. That's my favorite adaptation of Cinderella, and in it Lady Tremaine is both sympathetic AND a terrible monster.

Once when I was a kid, I went to the meet and greet for Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. I was climbing on the wall cause i was bored from waiting in line and Lady Tremaine scREAMS AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS “GET OFF MY WALL.” And I fell backwards and started crying 😂

Now at the end of Cinderella 3, a twist in time when Lady Tremaine was restored to her human form but wearing scullery clothes identical to those Cinderella used to wear & forced to be working in the Castle as a housekeeper under Cinderella's authority as punishment for the cruelty she showed her. Theirs a strong chance that the king, who was absolutely outraged by her actions, will not go easy on her that's for sure.

Why do I remember that this story has an original version (before Disney) that the Evil Step Mother tried to invade their wedding and demanded another chance at the shoe. Then was burned to death when the castle's blacksmith gave are a glass slippers fresh out of the furnace and she wore them immediately. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine this?

Especially if you know what happen in the story Kids dont read this part.And sorry for my grammar When the stepsisters were trying the glass shoe, and cant fit it , they decided to cut their own toes so the shoe can fit.Because of the blood,the prince knows what happen and the shoe didnt really fit on them. Then when the prince discover Cinderella is the true owner, the stepmother still threating her so they can live in the castle with her. But in the wedding doves pick the stepmother and stepsisters eyes ,so they go out of the kingdom and blind.

Lady Tremaine is an ambitious mother trying to get a better life for both her and her family Maleficent is petty Idi her name but the whitch in Snow White is just jelous Most of the villians backstories on their evil doings are basic and pathetic so I don't think there are really evil villians just wrong doing or spiteful people. Like Anastasia she shows that she is good which means she is not evil, just has the wrong influences.

I get soo sad when people forget the Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1997 Cinderella. It was released by Disney and is personally my absolute favorite. I even liked the step sisters because they were so fun.

I still think Frollo is still worst than the step mother.

Truth be told, I was disappointed at the end of the film version of Cinderella. I was hoping a Red Wedding revenge on Tremaine and her daughters because the Pdince/King was portrayed by Richard Madden. Then I remembered it's Disney.

The Evil Queen was a lot more wicked than Lady Tremaine. Lady Tremaine didn’t wanna murder Cinderella at first. Just ruin her. The Evil Queen, however, not only wanted Snow White dead, and her heart cut out, all because The Queen’s mirror said that Snow fairer than she.

When I look at Tremaine, from the original animated film by Disney I get that pure evil feeling. I just do. I believe she belongs on the pure evil wiki. I don’t believe the animated Tremaine ever had a heart at all, just looking at her gives me chills. I would’ve be surprised if she was the reason Cinderella’s father died, though this is never discussed or proven.

This is why I liked Villains. They have goals, ambitions and willing to do anything to have things better (at least for them). Heroes are comfortable in the status quo, they don't have any goals nir ambitions.

It’s good to view backstories of villains, for we can learn from them.... We could be a villain easily if we forget kindness, love, and care of those other than ourselves. Villains are often not monsters but in a moment in time became selfish and dark, in some cases turning into what we see as a monster. This applies to stories and gives real life lessons

Tremaine’s personal loss (her previous husband) still doesn’t excuse her actions towards Cinderella. She could’ve at least kept loving her two daughters, and to remind herself that just because she lost her loving husband it doesn’t mean that it will happen to her daughters. Besides if she truly cared about her daughter’s happiness than she should’ve let them marry whom they love. Just because a person loses someone they love once, it doesn’t mean that they can’t find love again with someone else.

Lets talk about the real sad irony of all of this: had Lady Tremaine treated "Ella" like an actual daughter, like her own, and her stepsisters also like a real sister, she STILL wouldve gone to the ball, only not in secret, which means the prince STILL would have saw her and decided on her. Difference would be LT would be raised in status as the mother of a princess/queen, and Ella wouldve been able to arrange wealthy marriages STILL for the step sisters. Her own spite and jealousy screwed her out of what she wanted all along, when all she really had to do was play nice.

Kinda sad that you include KH series in this episode but not in the other ones, specially how important Maleficent's role is in the KH series, but that would make the video way too long.

Here’s the thing about Lady Tremaine. Not only does her cruelty and jealousy spawn from completely narcissism but it’s blinds her from the possibility’s with Cinderella. Yes she did have daughters of her own but she also had this completely beautiful stepdaughter that could woo any man with a blink of an eye and could have used for money just as much as she tried with her daughters. Even if it was just an “oh she’s not my real daughter” thing she could have used Cinderella as a platform for her other daughters to marry wealthy as well.

This woman is probably the best Disney Villain to ever live.

I think lady Tremaine is actually more evil than any of the other Disney villains. Simply because she doesn't need Magic to get her way. She's almost like Stalin or Hitler, rather than just Satan or something like that.

Lady Tremaine is definitely cruel, but I think Frollo is worse. He made Quasimodo believe he was too ugly to live among people, and also was cruel to the gypsies. He's one screwed up dude. I don't care how you do it, or what character it focuses on, but I'd love to see a video on Oliver & Company. It's such an underrated movie, and I would love to see you talk about it.
