JonThe Artizt I’m pretty sure they know it’s 3D. It just sucks that her design is riddled with polka dots because it makes her hard to draw in 2D. Miraculous would’ve been an anime if her design didn’t have so many damn polka dots.

They could’ve honestly done so much more with it. Especially since it’s 3D. I’m looking at this and comparing it to RWBY, another 3D anime-cartoon type series. The outfits are more complex in RWBY and have elements that make it more than just the skintight whateverthefuck that the miraculous models have. The budget for RWBY, especially when it was just getting started, was significantly lower than miraculous’ budget is right off the bat. They could’ve easily added more uniqueness to the suits and more elements actually related to what they’re supposed to be. Anyway yeah the designs are pretty lazy in miraculous.

It is but the show was made in just a few months...artists couldn't do much and the writers had to put what should've been the first episodes much later.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show but the actual character designs and names of the superheroes and villains have little to no effort put into them. It would be easy for almost any fan of the show to do better.

Superhero designs like batman or the flash are simple, recognizable, but they also have eye catching silhouette. They know what they want the reader to feel while looking at the characters while also obviously being designed to look appealing. There was more then 5 minutes of thinking when making those. While whoever designed ladybug just went: Ladybug = Polkadot and nothing else. It's lazy, in my opinion.

I get your point, but my point definitely stays for Superman, he changed about as much as Clark Kent when it comes to his costume. The Flash and Batman I will concede on cause at least those cover up more of their face and they even act different in most cases. But also look at some of the X-men, or other super heroes. The green lanterns get a suit and an eye mask, their eyes go white. But besides that? They don’t typically change much. Superheroes have always been like this and have very rarely changed in a lot of instances, for the same reason Marinette doesn’t change much. Marketing, being able to recognize them in and out of costume, and toys. I do think they could have done better on her design, even if it was just as minor as a few more variations in color/a scarf. Changing them entirely during their transformation makes sense from a logical standpoint, sure. But not from a marketing or cartoon perspective.

Like I like your designs. But just not for these characters.

Also they don't really fit their personalities as far as how they are in and out of costume... Like at all. Again, good designs, not for these characters.
