This is original, i mean of all the cat videos that talk about their behavior, this is the first one I've come across that says they see people as bad hunters LoL but yeah already know they think we are incompetent and weak and all the other things they look down on us for 😂

They know we aren't cats. To them, we're a type of hairless ape that provides food, love, comfort, and entertainment. We may not be cats, but we are family.

The real question is who is reading cats minds?

Cats can distinguish between another cat and things that aren't cats. That's how they know to either stand off for a territorial claim, run away from a predator, or attack and kill for food. They know that there are different types of animals. I think their categories may be quite generalized, but effective categorizations to navigate the world. For instance, cats chatter seemingly to imitate the sound of birds to encourage them to come closer. But they do this to moths, which have no sound to imitate. So one could reason that in a cat's world, there is a category of beings which includes birds and moths, both flying things which are suitable for food. They are what they do, and what purpose they serve to the cat's survival. They will fluff up and threaten smaller mammals with an intent to fight, but often fluff up with an intent to flee against a larger mammal, or avoid it outright. They will excessively vocalize territorial disputes against another cat, but merely growl, spit and hiss primarily against a non-cat mammal of their size. They know the difference between friend, food, and foe. Cats left to themselves only meow in adolescence, in communicating with their mother. Yet cats in adulthood will communicate with humans through meows. If you attempt to mimic their meows back to them, they will often reply. They can learn that humans communicate primarily through sound. Since humans serve the same role to adult cats that mothers serve to kittens, we are in the category of caretaker, which entails providing safety, love, and food. They recognize us for the things we offer them. And they will fulfill their role as well, in bringing food to prove that they can hunt as taught and seeking validation, as they did while still a kitten. They know we are not cats, they just don't care. But they do see us for what we truly are, parental figures who provide them with all good things in the world.

Cats do NOT think we are incompetent, they see us go "hunting" (that's what they think we are doing when we leave) and then see us sit down and eat enough food to keep them alive for a month. cats sometimes vocalise outside of our hearing range i believe So they must also think that we are partially deaf and actually accomodate us by vocalising in our hearing range which is nicer than most people in my life

this is a common misinterpretation of cats _socially_ viewing humans like other cats. they pack bond with humans like they would other cats, and treat you with the same attitude as they would other cats, as opposed to how you're never gonna see a tabby be best friends with a snake even if that snake acts friendly. they can absolutely tell we're not the same species as them, but they don't care because we're still part of the same family as far as they're concerned
