Mr. zxromeo Those hoses are for the exhaust extraction system used to keep the engine fumes out of the bay.

Easy difference between the engines and the ladder here. The engines had the smaller grill opening the ladder had the large sweeping one. U don't see three major fire truck manufactures in the same station either. All that's missing is an E-one rig.

They have 2 Engine, 1 Tiller, 1 Rescue, 2 Ambulance, 2 Chief Suburban,,, it is a lot !

@pitbullbitedog Thanks for your comments. This particulary kind of bay doors are not new, several FD's have them, for example WDCFD. I'm not quite sure, maybe someone from the 27th. can tell us, but is my best guess that as this station has a traditional look with a lot of history, the wanted to keep the same old style doors so they make them automatic.

@notobeanassbut A task force is a very flexible combination of units. A task force consists of a truck, engine, and 200 series engine aka the pump. A TF can be broken up into a light force which consists of the truck and pump. The truck and pump always respond together on calls. The only exception would be E209 which is the only fully staffed 200 series engine in the department and responds on its own. This is due to the call volume at that station. The staffing on a TF is 5 on the truck...

@mso3355 , 4 on the engine and 1 on the pump. Staffing on a LF is 4 on the truck and 2 on the pump. The fifth ff from the truck rides on the pump. Also the truck always leads the TF or the LF because the captain of the truck is the highest ranking member in the TF or LF and must assess the situation and if need be request more resources from OCD. TFs respond to just about everything other than medical calls. Medical calls generally go to the engine or the LF with a rescue ambulance.

Task force 27 is the way that the group of vehicles is called when all of them, toghether, attend a call. I'm not pretty sure but for example this would be truck 27, engine 27, engine 227 and the battalion chief. Creo....

@DJDanniFantom that's part of the Light Force, they add 200 to the normal Engine Number, it always rolls with the Ladder, so that the Ladder has more capability. Read up on the Light Force or two-car for more info.

@pitbullbitedog The doors open like that, so that if there's a power outage or an Earthquake causes the doors to not open, they can manually open the doors by hand, just as easy.

from looking at the units responding, it could have been smoke condition or commercial fire alarm activation.

you must have been there on fire service day or a special event day do to thje two aerilal ladders crossed with the flag ,lapd hollywood div.is behind station 27 and next door is the museam next door .

JOSEARGUINARENA Nuestras estaciones de bomberos aquí en Estados Unidos, algunos se remontan a la década de 1900! Algunos incluso están todavía en uso. José me alegro de que lo disfruten aquí en Estados Unidos. En este video (la estación de Nueva fuego) fue construido en 1992. sure did took them forever..at my station we have to have our gear on under a 2 minutes and be on the truck packed up and ready to go.
