"Lagaan: once upon a time in India" is a 2001 film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and starring Aamir Khan. It was nominated for the Oscars for best foreign language film, thus becoming the third Indian feature film to achieve this achievement, after Mother India (1957) and Salaam Bombay (1988). The film is about a small town in Victorian India that must win a cricket match to ensure its survival. What at first is presented as an impossible challenge to achieve, later ends up acquiring a revolutionary tone. It's a work full of color, music and love of Indian culture; so today we dedicate it a well-deserved space on this channel.
