Archival footage shot in the Capital City of Nigeria in 1977.
It contains stock footage of Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city: old huts buildings and bridges with vintage cars, Federal Government building, Nigerian flags fluttering on Government buildings, fishermen fishing with the net on the Guinea Gulf using traditional African boats, Nigerian International Trade Fair LITF with visitors and industrial pavilions of all the Countries in the world, African grey parrot, Psittacus erithacus and Nigerian typical plants in town, a polo game at Lagos Polo Club, go-kart racing in a local arena, and more.

Makes me so nostalgic. I was 17 then and we lived at 9 Kuramo Close, Ikoyi. Decades later, I still yearn for those days. Lagos, my hometown forever

1967 perhaps, but noway 1977, I was there in 77 to 83 it was a wreck by 77 and all the old timer cars had gone...

..that was not 1977, I was 13 years old and the place was full of Peugeot 504s and 404s. Lovely footage but make an effort with some research...

The video is from several parts of Lagos, but largely of Victoria island during the first Nigerian international trade fair to mark her independence in 1960

I doubt this is Lagos in 1977. The vehicles appear to be doing left hand driving. Nigeria changed to right-hand driving in 1972.
