The Lagos Blue Metro was held up in court by property owners for many years , but now everybody is happy with the completion of the Blue metro after 12 grueling years. No amount of opposition can stop the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.

Everyone, remember Abuja...FCT capital. The locals must have had serious issues with developers and contractors at the beginning of the project. Now Everyone is happy and elated about the new capital. Suffice to say, certain things need to be given up for new infrastructures and development. This is for all Nigerians and not for foreigners. Yet government is compensating the rightful claimants being affected.

Laura, I'm so sorry that you see men who are only doing their best at this juncture as evil men. I believe in sanctity of life and in freedom whatever that might be. I also believe in those who say they have something to offer and are doing what they say they will do. For the good Lord to judge a man like us wrongly, it must be that he doesn't believe that our people should be emancipated. That our people should have the best of the best. That our people should not dream and that our people should not be hopeful. I want you to settle your mind away from politics. Let's say me and you meet in supermarket and you buy bread but I buy bread biscuit and butter and on top of it I buy drinks. Would you want to be me?. Of course in your shoes I would like to be the other one. But, you don't know what I do, what is the history behind my ability to buy those things and how I come to afford them. If we meet again another day and you have been able to bring enough of money to buy the same things that I buy and you walk away from the till, would you say, that evil man looking at me?. Because if you say so, then we have two evil people walking out of a supermarket me and you. A third or fourth person who could be buying the only thing they could afford will also be hopeful that one day they'll be able to buy all of those things starting with bread and butter as it may be. This is the power of hope. To arrive at that hope a country alike individuals must be able to think about few things, first of all sacrifice, secondly be ambitious and thirdly work at the ambitions. This is what the current government is trying to to do. I know it hurts everyday and everyone. But remember, apart from Udoji that was distributed to government workers in the seventies, no one has given anybody anything ever since. Yes, you might argue that government subsidies helps to cushioned the effect of such lacunas. But little did anyone know that the greatest fraud ever perpetrated in our country is the subsidies, because it is only lining the pockets of few. People who has many cars benefits more from the subsidies than those who are packed in danfos 14 at a time. SUV's uses more petrol or diesel than danfos , yet everybody pays. Now, we talked about bread costing so much and butter costing even more. If a portion of the money that was used to pay subsidies is channelled towards creation of industries, butter factory and given to farmers to cultivate more maize and grains, the price of bread might not be as high as they're today. Butter will also be available at reasonable price. People will have jobs not far from home and might not need to pay transport fees and many other features of progress including higher wages. As a matter of fact productivity will increase and people will be happy. These are some of the ideas behind the government action. I know that a number of people will say why are we constructing a 700 km road when there is hunger and deprivation in the land. First of all, those money has to be sourced and has to be put towards the project otherwise we might borrow and then give the money away or back to those who lend us the money by using most of it to big things that we necessary don't need or using it for food that we should have been producing ourselves. That is called waste, because we will still be owing. By building roads, as a nation we're building a future. The farmer will be able to send it's produce to the cities in the shortest possible times thereby reducing waste. Businesses will be able to establish subsidiaries along the route as it promotes their service delivery. And, above all, it will create jobs for thousands and help to bring new skills into the country. I have nothing against any political party or person. But the same people that are questioning the projects wants to save the money, but which money?. First the country doesn't have it, secondly, the money saved from subsidies Is already starting to pay back the debts accumulated and thereby freeing up the citizens for a greater and more prosperous future. Otherwise, we would be living in a bubble that is already leaking. I understand your pains, but this is the time that collectively we should think of what we can do for our country and not what our country can do for us God bless Nigeria.

Former aviation minister said lagos calabar road is not well guided because 47,000 vehicles depart Lagos everyday at shagamu 37 goes towards ore, then 27 , 000 head toward to Benin n reduce at onitsha some goes to ph etc. in other words the current road is under utilized .
