Yeah, literally just define concepts and build upon them. First you start with a unit circle with its center on the origin of X and Y axes, insert a radius with a length of one in the center such that it touches the edge. The horizontal distance of the end of radius from the Y axis is the cosine, and the vertical distance the end of the radius is from the X axis is the sine, and with the radius as the hypotenuse you get a right triangle. You can figure out things like the length of chords being directly proportional to the radius and their length is like 2cos(angle)*radius or 2sin(angle)*radius if you draw a line from the center to the chord’s endpoint, depending on which orientation you positioned it (assuming completely vertical or completely horizontal). And the distance the center of the chord is from the edge of the circle is like (1 - sin or cosin (angle)) * radius

2:18 this shit actually blew my mind, I've never seen Pythagorean Theorem modeled this way
@jemm113
@jemm113 2 жыл бұрын
Ancient Greeks actually modeled most of their math purely in Geometry as it was seen as the best natural mode of math. They believed most, if not all, math could (or simply should) be solved with a ruler and compass. There are actually some not-frequently-taught techniques that are similar to the ones shown in the triangle vid about drawing shapes using a ruler and compass that in modern times would look off without the foundational mathematical knowledge. In addition: “Squaring” numbers literally meant using squares to calculate the squares of numbers and solving quadratic equations involved completing the square by similar means. Of course using Geometry alone didn’t give them insight into concepts like imaginary/lateral numbers and a lack of coordinate based systems also didn’t leave too much room for discovering negative numbers in their systems. These limitations followed mathematicians into medieval and renaissances Europe until a few key mathematicians tried solving the general equation for a cubic (and quadratic besides). There’s a few KZfaq documentaries/essays that go further on these topics and they’re quite interesting with how weird history has treated math as a profession and science.

The usage of bits of the original MV is very tastefully done. A lot of people making this specific video would've probably overused them just for the hell of it, but throwing them in sparsely and only towards the end adds to the effect of the video's 'build-up' and lets the featured material have plenty of time to shine on its own.

I never understood what the original song meant, it just always felt sad to me, way to sad, and now this somehow made it worse, like, I don't know how to explain it but seeing so many "tries" to explain where a center in a triangle is makes me think it's a machine making countless and countless attempts at finding an answer yet failing time after time after time, yet it won't give up, because even as a machine it has managed to find suffering within its own insanity, and it can't stop it, for trying makes it start at again, so it runs the calculations again, trying to stop the suffering finding block after block after block, trying to find it.

@@fatitankeris6327 Exactly. My point is just that the way mathematicians might explain these concepts in some very detailed form is not exactly the same as a high school teacher teaching teenage students a definition and a few problems on a test just for them to forget one week later. I just find this video to be pretty impressive in showing how these "basic" concepts can actually be very complex in the world of geometry and math.

Throughout the video, every time the spinning circle lines comes out at the chorus (I think it's the chorus?), we've been trained to expect it to shift place to place and to change colours. And then the pattern breaks at 2:33 and it's the same colour, shifting in the same direction. At arguable the climax of the song. If not, it's like an introduction to the climax. I don't know why it stood out to me so much, but on first watch it gave me like a... You know one of those eureka moments? Like a lightbulb moment, where you suddenly get an idea or you suddenly understand something. It made me feel like that, but I don't know what I understand, nor what idea I got. I am still baffled on like... tenth watch. But yeah, that's about it. It just really stood out to me for some reason. The video is fantastically edited, and the vibe and style of it is palpable. Really love this. I never quite understood the song, even after reading the lyrics, might be just that I'm dumb and can't figure it out, but I'll be coming back just for the video. Good stuff. Very good stuff.

Two angles are said to be congruent if their corresponding sides and angles are of equal measure. Two angles are also congruent if they coincide when superimposed. That is, if by turning it and/or moving it, they coincide with each other. The diagonals of a parallelogram also set up congruent vertex angles.
