Good info. Thank you. Allow me to make a friendly suggestion. You can buy for 30.00 a vacuum outlet .. where you plug your saw and vac into it , it in turn plugs into power outlet. Then when you turn on your saw the vac turns on and off with the saw. Makes life a bit easier.

Dave, use a paste wax such as Brix on the cast iron top. It prevents rusting and makes everything slide more easily. I use the wax on the bandsaw table, jointer bed, and lathe bed too. I use a dry lubricant on the rest of my table saw and other machine bodies. I just used up some CRC I had, which works great, and I bought the New rust preventative from WD-40. They have quite the extensive line now and thought I would try it out. I'm in CT and I get what you are saying about the humidity. I hate it the older I get, lol.

Hi David Sam from Alaska love how you broke it down. I got mine earlier in 2021 along with the 1412 band saw Great machines they are. I added an extension wing to the right of my table saw and also built a zero clearance insert it is absolutely a wonderful saw keep up the good work I have subscribed cheers from Alaska

Hey David, thanks for the video. I too just bought a Fusion 2. I have had it for a couple of weeks and everything you said is spot on! The fit and finish on mine is very impressive. The only thing I have to do yet is convert to 220v. I have the kit but the DRO makes the conversion a bit convoluted. Looking forward to your next video. Jim

Great first video. Editing software is for sissies. I have been looking to replace my rigid (which really has been great for the money) and from all I've seen, I'm convinced this is the one. I'm glad you spoke of the price because I started looking last spring and now that I'm ready to buyI was questioning my memory cause I'd have sworn it was cheaper then.

Dave, this was a great decision! I have purchased the same unit about two months earlier so I missed out on the two recent upgrades, I use a Wixey digital angle gismo magnetically mounted on the saw blade so I'm not sure this feature was worth $400 dollars. Never even thought about High/Low fence indicator gage so I guess I don't need it. I love how the saw works. Recommend some stain protection for steel table top right away on assy. You didn't mention the fence sliding toward the operator to avoid blade pinching & kickback. This feature provides the same level of safety as the Sawstops electronics, w/o the additional $1000.00 cost. Simple things are best!

I don’t really think the upgrades constituted the sole justification for the increase, COVID-19, I suspect, played a major role. I noticed most retailers raised prices.

Hi David Great video very well presented. I’m currently looking for a new tablesaw after working with a DeWalt contractor saw - very well made and accurate but at 105 decibels and poor dust control not really suitable for workshop use. Your presentation and comments will certainly help with my decision . Regards from New Zealand. David

Thank You, David. very informative and well structured for a first video. F2s are really nice saws for the price. A few observations: I noticed, as You lock the fence in place, the far ed of it lifts in the air, which tells me it locks only at the front and not the back. How much does the back deflect when pushed on? Also, to make the cuts even safer and to improve cut quality, I'd lower the blade so that it's only about a tooth's height above material and raise the bench behind the saw so that it serves as a proper outfeed table. Also, consider getting a remote control for that dust collector or a relay that switches it on/off automatically (with a delay). Worse, but still functional - extension cord with a switch under the table saw fence rail that turns the dust collector on. Walking to it to switch it on and off again past the end of the fence rail every time You need to make a cut is just asking for a tear or a bruise. Have You tried rip cutting hardwood of say 2 inch thickness, and if so, does the 1.75hp motor struggle?

@@davidgagne7410 awesome. I have a ridgid cabinet saw. I forget the model. The fence is atrocious. Have you done any tests to see how parallel the blade is to the miter track out of the box?

I'm on the fence about getting the Fusion 2. I was about to pull the trigger but the one thing that has me stopped is a couple of people saying that they had problems with their customers service. $2000 is not a ton of money for a table saw, but I expect good customer service for any problems.

I had to call for my bandsaw. Took a cpl of days and they called. Gave me advice and promised a video. Used the advice but never got the video. I am happy with the saw and bandsaw but their customer service, not so much. Like Dewalt, I measured quality and bang for the buck and hope I really don’t need the Customer service.

Hi David, I'm considering the Fusion 2. I've seen some comments on forums saying that some folks are having issues with dust collecting inside the cabinet - though others say Laguna fixed this with the latest version. What is your experience with this? Also, I keep looking for your follow-up video on the Laguna; are you still loving it? Thanks.

Dust does collect in cabinet. I got an attachment for my shop vac with a long hose to reach down to vac out, easier than taking cabinet apart (Lee Valley). Look for my next video regarding saw update.

Hi Dave, my saw has not arrived yet. I watched a few videos about them fence, and I am really concerned about the fence, there is no support on the other end of the fence, how much play is there, especially if you are cutting large boards the inaccuracy will exacerbate the problem. Whats your opinion.
@davidgagne7410
@davidgagne7410 2 жыл бұрын
I have really not noticed any issue. I have been ripping down really green white pine, true dimensional 1” x 12” x 8’ into 3 ⅞” strips for baseboards. I have not had an issue with the fence. The saw has bogged down a cpl of times as the wood is really green but no big issue. Good luck!

I really do not see the fascination people have with Laguna especially considering how many complaints they have against their customer service . For the money the saw is not that great . it has an aluminum trunnion and their motors are underpowered . compare that to the likes of grizzly that have heavy cast iron reunions and waay more power and very good customer service . i bought a 8 " jointer from them and discovered after i set it up that it had a small crack under the i feed table . i took a photo of it and e mailed it to Grizzly . they responded immediately and said they would send me a new machine and pay for the shipment of both machines . all that happened within forty eight hours . i've never heard of any customer that had that level of response from Laguna .
