In this deeply personal yet forward-thinking episode, Kilo Loco takes you on a journey through recent life changes, including job loss, and the dawn of a new focus - Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Join me as I navigate through tough personal times (#Divorce, #LaidOff), becoming a primary parent, and the arrival of a premature baby. As I find my feet amidst these challenges, one thing becomes clear: the future of software engineering, and possibly my career, lies in AI.
Why AI? As a passionate #SoftwareDeveloper, I've always stayed ahead of tech trends. With #AI set to revolutionize our world, I believe it's crucial for programmers to understand and adapt to this change. And I want to take you on this AI discovery journey.
In this channel reboot, I'll not only delve into AI and its vast potential but also explore how AI intersects with everyday life, relationships, business, and, of course, coding. Join me as I dive headfirst into the world of AI, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, and more.
Do you have any thoughts on AI's future or suggestions for the channel? Drop them in the comments below, your input is invaluable as we venture into the future of tech together!

Sorry to hear that you've been going through so much but glad to hear that you're gaining focus on your future. Stay strong! As for AI and development, everything I've seen so far leads me to think that AI has promise as a co-pilot developer assistant but I haven't yet seen anything to lead me to think that developers have much to worry about yet. I hope I'm right but I'll also continue to follow you to see what you learn along the way.

Man this is a courageous video to make. So much love and props to you. Congratulations on everything - even the hard ones - you’re leveling up way more than you can understand right now. Layoffs suck. I have every confidence YOU will come out stronger. Love the new direction you’re taking the channel. Gonna be selfish and spill my thoughts - I’m a fan of AI and it’s changed my life over the last 9 months - for me, it helped me change careers through LLM chat helping me know some questions to ask - domain-specific knowledge I didn’t know I didn’t know. If that makes sense. Then I used the one I used to help study topics, check code, and “jam” with. That’s a theme I stick to - we’re just vibing out (me + the LLM), you know? Code gen is also interesting. Art and other domains are super interesting. However I’ve found many want to raise pitchforks on these topics. I think once you have a dedicated base for this kind of thing, people know what they’re getting into. I’m pro-AI-art and think that it helps artists, so take my bias into consideration. I’m less interested in the “debate” topics (but acknowledge that I’ll still click and watch lol) and more about “Here’s something new that dropped, here’s how you can run it, etc”. If you’re into the academic papers those are cool too to summarize, but I’m more hands-on: gimme the code, let me run it, and help me with the workflows. One more thing: please take care of yourself. I subbed originally because I was interested in AWS and iOS development but I don’t care about that like I care about creators staying healthy and happy. This AI space is super fast moving and while timeliness is key on videos and topics, don’t churn your headspace if you can help it. All love.

Thanks for the detailed response and I really appreciate the concern and support! 😁 I love the fact that you're able to use LLMs like that because I'm doing the exact same thing. I've been able to acquire knowledge so fast with AI tools and learn things i didn't know I didn't know too. I've been playing around a lot with Midjourney and Stable Diffusion because I also believe in AI art. I'm not entirely sure which path I want to take and I don't think it's going to be the debate path tho. I kinda want to explore and build tools for both the average person or business and show how we all can be more efficient in all the areas of our lives. But let's see what happens. I just want to enjoy what I'm doing overall.

Kilo Brother same thing happened to me and slowly things will pass but divorce do things that really damage our core part, For me it took more than 7 years to recover from it but I think you can heal from it in less time span because are very intelligent and expressive about your feelings. But I will not sugar coat or type some motivation, Divorce PTSD is real as sun and your loved ones who are concerned about you can really help you in healing and specially the presence of them. You are great in teaching and expressing complex things in to a easy narrative. Bye Brother

Oh, man! I am so sorry to hear that. Here are my thoughts about AI. Before I get started, I just want to mention that junior roles are ALREADY mostly illuminated. I have worked with AI for mobile as an iOS developer. *NO, that thang did not code everything for me.* Instead, the mobile client was a consumer of AI technology. Things like a prediction of certain trends (can't really go deeper than that). *Basically, AI made the user experience A LOT better.* I don't see mobile devs being scarce. What's coming in the near future is spatial computing. We're about 5-10 years away from that. Also, did you know that ChatGPT got sued? Yeah it hallucinated and defamed a character of a radio host.
@Kilo_Loco
@Kilo_Loco Жыл бұрын
It's just my personal opinion but yea I think that development teams are going to shrink dramatically, leading to one or two developers managing a whole app as opposed to the large teams that were popular in the past. I heard about user account info being leaked but I didnt hear about defaming a radio host. Still, I think AI is only going to become more relevant in day to day society and with more solutions for training models arising, AI is only going to get better.

First of all, I hope everything be ok with you and your family soon❤. Secondly I think there are some things that may happen sooner or later,in the near future the companies which has legacy codes, won’t need to hire anyone for debugging because generating a new code base would be less costly than debugging. I would like to focus on core ML because I think still front end needs AI as well. However what will happen would be the machines which building the machines. So the AI which can generates a lot of chat GPT would be the best

🤯🤯🤯Sad you lost your job //Hopefully you find something soon quickly //Nice to see your ai enthusiasm as well. BP just used Ai to cut 70% of coders, and now the remaining coders verify the ai generated code because it sometimes generates unsecure code.

These problems are not forever, so I believe in you. Going back to artificial intelligence, it's a cool idea, I want to see how you move to it from iOS background , and how we can apply it to daily iOS developer, because all engineers will learn it whether they want to or not😅

Yea, I definitely tell myself often that these things all have an end date, so that helps keep me sane. Thank you for sharing. You are fortunate to be a senior developer who might be a guy hired to use AI displacing junior developers. But how do you get to be a senior developer under that scenario?
@Kilo_Loco
@Kilo_Loco Жыл бұрын
Well to be clear, the jr dev positions going away is just an opinion and that might not actually happen. Becoming a senior developer comes with experience and being able to take the business wants and turn them into actionable tasks for jr devs. Instead of giving those tasks to the jr devs, the senior dev will be writing a prompt to have AI accomplish the same tasks. To get to that level, I’d say to start using AI to help you code now. Learn the intricacies of the tool(s) of your choice and find out wha the strengths are so you can become faster at coding features
