When I saw this live, I looked at my wife and said that's the winner ! When he was cut I was so disappointed I quit watching. But the show is American Idol not most potential. He practiced and came back and showed everybody why he'll be a STAR !

In his 20 years of life he has accomplished so many things 1. Auditioned American Idol in 2018 and didn't make it to the live rounds 2. He came back to American Idol in 2019 to play guitar for a friend who was auditioning and he wasn't planning to audition again but Katy Perry begged him to sing again and take golden ticket and he did and he won it 3. Going On Tour and meeting his fans 4. He headlined Oregon Jamboree in August when an artist canceled 5. His debut album Here's To Anyone comes out on September 17th 6. He made his Grand Ole Opry Debut last night I can't wait to see what happens to him in the future I'm so incredibly proud of you Laine Reed Hardy

It’s so bizarre to me that he didn’t win it the first time because he was by far one of the best, if not The best and just so authentic and genuine and his voice is incredible and something you don’t hear anymore in music so I’m really happy that he got a second chance and came back and killed it because every performance was concert worthy. This kid was meant to sing. He’s literally one of my favorites, him and Luke Bryan.

Right before Katy said he looks like a young Elvis, I was thinking the exact same thing! He reminds me of Elvis! He has those dreamy Elvis eyes and Elvis was also from the south. Elvis's mother was part Native American and Laine's mother also looks part Native American. I cannot believe how much more he improved the following year. He is a true musician. He has a great stage presence which is why he won AI the following year.
