Is Patrick Laine a good fit for the Montreal Canadiens? Ivan Demidov meets with NHL teams. Connor McDavid dominating in the Stanley Cup Finals, leading Oilers to Game 6 vs Florida Panthers. #habs #montrealcanadiens #nhl

I'd rather see McDavid win the cup this year vs looking to win it when the Habs are in their window

We had a country house off Jackson Rd in Morin Heights QC which we had to pass "Le Studio Morin Heights" to get to.

I think KH is going to make major moves. I think he is going after the 4 or 6 or 10 pick. 10 most likely. We take 2 big forwards and Surin at 26. We are set then Laine with Suzuki and Slaf. In 2 we are set

I would offer Matheson and Anderson. Laine is worth a gamble and we can afford him.

Would like to see Montreal with a later pick try and pick Hage or letourneau

The upside with Laine is way to great to not try. It’s 2 years and he was elite. One of the best shooters in the league

For the right price, I think it’s worth it.

The rebuilding Habs just completed Year 3 of their tear down and reconstruction. They need perhaps another year or two to complete. Trading for a very high priced Patrik Laine doesn’t seem to make any sense.
@DrewDekes22 сағат бұрын
This is the lowest the price may ever be to acquire him. They’d have to get creative to make it make sense/fit the timeline of their rebuild. I’m not suggesting they take steps back just to acquire him. It’s only if there’s a legitimate hockey deal that makes sense, then you do it.

Laine is absolutely not worth the risk ! His best games are behind him. We want to build a stronger team, not take someone's poor contract.

He’s 26

I agree 100% - not worth the risk. Also - how does he fit with the Habs great culture that is being built - there is more to winning a Cup than just talent or Leafs and Oilers would win it every year.
@DrewDekes7 күн бұрын
We’d only take on his contract if Columbus retained money, or if we were able to move money out (ie move anderson, dvorak as an example) and, if the Canadiens genuinely believed they’re getting a different player than we’ve seen the last few years. Obviously his personal life got out of hand, so that was obviously a contributing factor to his lack of recent success. The money he was paid was because he was productive at one point at a level that garnered that kind of money in the NHL…at 26 years old, hard for me to believe those days are completely gone IF he does a 180 and can become that player again. At his age, it’s absolutely possible.

@@DrewDekes The question is - is it worth the risk to what Hughes is building - one bad apple spoils the whole bunch baby !!!!!!

They’ll be confident in their decision if they want to make an offer on him. Could have much better ideas up their sleeve. We’ll see!

Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit are very good examples of how not to rush a rebuild. Patience Why bring in an 8.7 million dollar maybe like Laine when already stuck with 12.0 million in Gally and Andy in bottom 6 20.7 million for those 3 players even if only for 2 years… full of maybes… I love Gally and hope Andy brings something this season but the cap hit is heavy for what they bring. Rather Habs bring back Taffoli or Monahan or try a Marchessault, a Perron in free agency If not pure goal scoring big bodies like a Joshua or DeBrusk for middle 6, size and some sandpaper. Laine does not play like a 6’5” forward, he’s a one dimensional perimeter player Also Lindstrom is the “Wright” pick Iginla is the “Slaf” pick Not in size but in picking the player that will bring the most to the team, captain material!!! Can play centre and skates the puck into the net. Gives me a Suzuki & Gally blend feels If they land Iginla and a Yakemchuck or Jiricek it would be great first round. Good D are good assets to have LD is loaded RD could use some depth
