In this video we explore the town of Malcesine, which was our base for the two weeks.
Malcesine is located on the North East shore of Lake Garda.
We take a short walk beside Lake Garda before exploring the castle in Malcesine. The castle sits on the shore of the Lake and offers superb views in all directions. We climb to the top of the tower of the castle at 70m above the lake giving stunning views.
We then explore the streets of Malcesine which are lined with shops, restaurants, cafes & bars before heading to the picturesque harbour of Malcesine. A town with a lot of character and a stunning backdrop of the Monte Baldo Moutain range.
Further videos include hikes in the mountains above Lake Garda, a trip to the Dolomites as well as visiting the towns of Limone & Garda.

Italy is such a beautiful country 😊 I’ve visited a few time but am always happy to go back. Haven’t been to the lake yet. That view from the castle top is quite something. Stunning place 😊

Great video, Eddie, lovely village, great lake views especially from the castle. Loved the harbour too, small and easy to get round. Looks a lot warmer there than the Lake District!! The town felt very Mediterranean, bit like the Greek islands, not overrun with tourists. The sort of place you want to stay a long time in!! Looking forward to the next ones, regards, Ashley

Thanks Ashley. Malcesine is a really nice place and a good base to explore the area. We thought it had a lot of character, with the cobbled streets and harbour. The castle was really nice with great views over Lake Garda. The weather seemed to get hotter each day, I think it would be too hot in July & August. Definitely a place we want to go back to. Eddie, you should get a job with the Lake Garda Tourist Board. That was a fabulous video with stunning views over the lake from the castle. You captured the town and it's character spot on. Loved the night-time atmosphere too. Hope you treated Carol to an Aperol Spritz 😋

Hi David, thanks. I would gladly take up a job in Lake Garda! It is a beautiful and stunning place and somewhere we will be returning to. The castle was really good with great views over the lake and over Malcesine. The night times were really nice around the harbour watching the sunset with a drink or two. (Aperol Spritz included!) Hello my friends. Wow that is a beautiful part of the world for sure. I was pleased to see that it was not over crowded. Hi Vince. Thanks. We both really enjoyed our holiday to Lake Garda, it is a stunning place and definitely somewhere we will be going back to. The short walk along the lake was filmed around mid morning. I will be making a video of a Lakeside walk we did later in the holiday, which was really nice.
