We went out and caught several largemouth bass on Lake Tillery, North Carolina. The bass were post spawn and up in the grass and shoreline vegetation. They didn't want a moving bait, but wanted the old fashion Texas rig with a ZeeBait Co Bamboo Bomber. This video takes you through our journey on the water and includes some tips and how to fish a texas rig.

Man, what a day of fishing. My buddy sam, who you have seen on several videos joined me at Lake Tillery, NC. BTW, you need to go check out his channel, 1Last Cast: / @flippinkrickets .

We planned to start the day running up the Uwharrie River. However, it was really foggy when we blasted off. So we went just up the lake from Swift Island boat ramp and I ended up catching as small bass on the texas rig. Once the fog broke we ran up the river. We wanted to find that elusive small mouth bass, but it just didn't happen. In fact, we didn't get bit at all in the river, so we headed back south to the main lake.

Once on the main lake we started targeting the shoreline grass. Unlike the last video where the bass were on a swim jig pattern, the bass didn't want a moving bait. A cold front came through and shut down the reaction bite for us. The largemouth tucked themselves up in the grass and wanted a bait sitting still or slowly moving. Thats where the Bamboo Bomber came in. It provides a bulkier presentation that just a worm, but is way more streamline than a creature bait.

We caught several fish throughout the day. Most were in the grass, but 1Last Cast did manage to catch a couple around some docks. Hopefully, this pattern holds for next weekend's tournament.
