Last minute trip from our home in Grand Rapids, MI across the state to Lakeport State Park on the shores of Lake Huron. We decided again to do this trip towing our WeeRoll small camper trailer with our Model Y rather than taking the Sprinter. Our teenage daughters had other plans, so we loaded up our gravel bikes and packed up quickly for this overnighter. We wanted to be back home by Sunday early afternoon. I put together a 25 mile gravel route Friday night and loaded things mostly up ahead of our planned Saturday morning departure. We were in no hurry, as we likely could not check into the campground until nearly 3pm anyhow. I use this trip to test our Tesla's efficiency while towing at both 65mph (home to Lakeport) and then again at 75mph (lakeport back home). Just over 175 miles each way, this test gave us a good idea of warm weather towing range with this setup. We averaged 540whr/mi @ 65mph and a much higher 678whr/mi @ 75pmh. We did manage to set our single charge drive record of 122 miles from 95% starting charge from East Lansing to 6% finishing charge upon arrival at Lakeport State Park Campground. Most importantly, we had a great time and really enjoyed this State Park and the gravel roads and farm lands surrounding it.
