Are you smoking crack? Michael Jordan was definitely the best player in this series. Just stop. The guy averaged 31 points per game 11 assists and over 6 rebounds on 56 percent SHOOTING!! And he was 50% from 3! Stop please!!

Random considerations) - only watching whole games you realize how good of a PG Magic was ...definitely the best ever, and it's not even close. It's not only about assists nor his height; he just had it. Take Magic+4, and you reach at least the Finals - I didn't remember Michael still a bit unripe in 1991 ... Some of the usual great moves, but many situations badly read and that dump travelling with 1:30 left in the game - only watching whole games, you realize the importance and the quality of Pippen. That being said, he used to kill games only in the 2nd or 3rd periods, when teams started rotations of the squad and the tension was released a bit. Never ever do I remember Pip marking the difference in the 4th periods; never was he able to take shots with the defenses well places in the crucial moments. That marks all the difference between him and the all time greats, and that's why Phil choosed Kukoc for the last shots the year in which there wasn't Michael. - as a teenager from Italy supporting MJ since 1989, I wished Lakers could score every action in this game .... with Scott and Worthy out for injury, the game risked to be a massacre. Instead, Campbell and Smith made the game of the life, keeping it alive. But the sensation was always the Bulls could escape away in every moment - Paxson literally won 2 of the first decisive three championship matches for Chicago. His 3 pointer in Phoenix in 1993 is historically underrated. - Chicago's longs battery in the first 3peat was kind of an Addams Family ....Perdue, Williams, Livingstone, Cartwright could barely play in Europe, in middle rank teams. I don't remember why Horace Grant was so little used by Phil Jackson in this game - impressive that Magic lost his 5 last Finals games at home, and 8 out 9 in total - this series, anyway, was tighter than what it seems .....Lakers won game 1, so that there was much pressure in game 2 for Chicago. In game 3, only a very tight Jordan 's buzzer beater avoid Chicago the defeat; and we have seen this one without Byron and Worthy. As I said earlier, take Magic +4 ... Anyway, we all knew Bulls were going to win, and they knew it too. It was just in the air, that gave them that confidence. - overall .... this is so iconic❤ It's now 33 years ago, incredible. We still remember everything. Incredible. Also the colours matching of the two teams was perfect. The electricity in the air, the vibe, the sense of history we could breathe. Those years were just different

Worthy and Scott left the series at the end of the 3rd quarter in game 4, with the Lakers down by 16. WITH Worthy and Scott, the Lakers were still going to be down 3-1 in the series. Had Worthy and Scott not been injured, they may have won this game, but they were not winning the series.

Yes sir, Real Live Early 80s baby here also - we were blessed to be able to witness and understand what was going on when we were 8 , 9 , 10 years old during this era - then being able to go into our teenage years as the Bulls dominated - but it really sucked in 1994 and 1995 when MJ retired - the Major League Baseball went through a strike around 1993 or 1994 - those were some tuff years for us young sports lovers - but the 49ers and Cowboys held it down with that rilvery in the early 90s - Mike Tyson knocking folks out in 90 seconds - man those were the days

@@Puzzlefan30 👍🏾 you are right - and I don't know what this is nowadays, but it definitely isn't the NBA - they need to change the name of the league or something - (no defense, 5 players standing around the 3 point line shooting 3's all game, no true Big Men roaming the paint, can't remember the last time I saw a offensive player back the defender down bumping and grinding) - just sad how weak the league is now - how the hell can't a team be up by 15 points at the end of the first quarter, down by 15 at halftime, back up by 12 with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter, then loose the game 18 points 🤷🏾‍♂️ - I don't know what type of basketball and defense these guys are playing but it dam sure is not what I was raised up watching - College Football is headed in the same direction - I love College Football and never watch the NFL - but it is turning into the same thing - I hate when a running back runs out of bounds without contact, and could have picked up 3 more yards but chooses to avoid the contact - Not Derrick Henry tho - defenders don't have to look for him, because he is looking for them 🤣

Glad a video like this is out there because somehow all these people think scottie pippen guarded and shut down Magic for 5 games,lol. Obviously MJ guarded and hawked Magic too.They both did. Except MJ did that and put up 31pts,11ast,6reb per game,shot 55.8% from the field and exactly 50.0% from ‘he can’t shoot 3s’.

Oh I know...From the first tip of game 1 to the last fg attempt by Magic in the series (which was blocked by MJ) he was guarding Magic. But people worship that clip of Scottie defensive sliding guarding Magic bringing the ball up...ssso I gave both credit to close off any possible nitpicking MJ haters. People try so hard to prop Scottie up to upper echelon all-time great player which he was NOT.

The style of play from 1991 to 2023 is unreal. The 90s- back to basket type play, mid range shots, more driving to the basket. 2023 more 3pts, more spacing, less defense

@@jcorey68 they would still be solid players not superstar or all time great status. Playing defense in the post consistently is stressful I've never seen Curry or trae young play any defense cause they don't have to. Remember that's what made small guys like mugsy and spud Webb special.
@jcorey68
@jcorey68 11 ай бұрын
@thebigrob45able true however, looking Steph he's gain strength over the years so in a different era he would have held up well in the 90s with that style of play. And honestly, he's the greatest shooter I've ever seen. And i can go back to Dr. J.
@bigwick30038
@bigwick30038 11 ай бұрын
@@jcorey68 from how weak and fragile when he first came in the league he definitely has gotten stronger still a lightweight at 6'3. Not debating he is the greatest shooter look at the great shooters in the 90s miller, rice, Richmond, throw in his daddy dell none dominated the game. The rules and style of play wouldn't allow it plus those guys had to play full iso defense on a routine basis. This era with zone defenses you can hide guys like Curry, trae young, and the Duncan Robinsons.

Magic played all 48 minutes in what would be his final NBA game until 1996. I leaped over the Lakers bench just before the buzzer sounded and gave him a gentle pat on the arm as I ran past him to join the celebrating Bulls. If this video had been just twenty seconds longer, I'd have appeared prominently amidst Jordan, Pippen, Horace Grant, and John Paxson who gave Jordan a piggy back ride off the court, lol. The back of Michael Jordan's jersey was soaked.

A bit off-topic perhaps, but you can really hear the voice of Lakers P.A. announcer Lawrence Tanter the background throughout this video. While I'm not exactly a Lakers fan, I've long considered Tanter the best in the business (SHOUT-OUT to him). While that '91 series was already his 10th season, he's still going strong today. His smooth cadence and baritone voice still sounds the same and is "way more cool" than the rest... many who sound like they're free-falling w/out a parachute (overdoing the "enthusiasm").

Yes, you really can hear him as well as that classic Forum "dun, dun, da da da dun" from the band when the visitor has the ball. All arenas used to have unique but not overbearing sounds. Nowadays it's non-stop music as soon as the ball goes up.

Lakers were scored on the opponent guy would take the ball and casually let it go to on side. Officials would sprint to ball and pass it to Lakers to start the break. The Lakers had a 7th man. Once it was Michal Thompson klays dad 6'10 coming off bench avg was25 26 a game. Then Mc adoò and they Eve had Dantley for a year or two. They had guys who were top scorers in last 5 ⁸ years coming off the bench.
