Lakeside campsite in Switzerland

Ever wanted to kayak on an alpine lake in the Swiss alps? This campsite on Lake Thun near Interlaken is the perfect location as your camper van or motorhome can be pitched next to the waters edge!
We took our Itiwit 3 inflatable kayak from Decathlon which was ideal for carrying in the van, and pulling out as/when needed due to its compact size.
VW Californias aren't blessed with storage space and Sarah isn't blessed with confidence on the water so take it from us, this is a good option for travelling around Europe.

Legends 🤩 The kayak is bloody brilliant until you have to pack it away or dry it out 🤦🏼‍♂️ A live is definitely not on the cards! We don’t wanna be chatting to 3 people, including my mum 😂😂 Lays crisps need to be one of the first things you buy, you lucky buggers!!

Loving these european trip vids, me and the girlfriend are off to Brittany in the summer in our new tent for a fortnight and these vids set the tone so well for the kind of holiday I'm hoping for. Just relax, enjoy the surroundings and disconnect from the daily grind. No stressful airports, cramped plane seats or any of the other stuff that comes with flying to a holiday resort, just freedom and enjoying eachothers company. Keep it up Moochers, you're inspiring others to follow suit!

Yes we went to ullswater and it’s not easy packing up 🙄but we’ll worth it! Keswick is one of our favourite places ever too x just like home ❤

A beautiful place out of this world really , amazing video thanks . I was just reading about the history of the Swiss Airforce coincidently , bad asses shot down by German and Allied aircraft in WW2 that strayed over their border 😮. What a view at sunset . H and M

Hey both, what a view! I'm glad you said you're gonna do a summary video as I was going to ask for a bit of advice - what went well, what went not so well, what you would have planned for better etc? I always feel a bit of a twang, planning to visit other KZfaqrs previous destinations but, it's difficult not being so inspired when you see what you guys have experienced. We have to get to Switzerland very soon! Cheers both. Safe travels.

We stayed on that campsite back in the day and our boys went kayaking on the lake. Just a couple of days on the way back from Italy. Beautiful!

We are going on our first trip in May and looking for inspiration, it’s only a week and we are going to Belgium. But planning a much longer one in September/October time to Switzerland and Italy. Keep on mooching folks ❤️

That’s easy mate… we don’t!! We have a rough idea of places we’d like to see beforehand but, we hardly ever book anything beyond the tunnel crossing. We use google maps for our routes and if it looks like a long drive, we’ll randomly pick somewhere to stop on the way. The biggest thing that dictates where we end up, is weather. Have a number of options in your head and be prepared to find somewhere new on the day if needed. It’s a holiday, you’re likely to enjoy it no matter where you end up 🤩 Don’t overthink it and, enjoy it 👍🏼

Nice campsite on the lake, Switzerland is pricey for food and drink I went to Aldi and Denner when I was there it's not expensive in those supermarkets and the Aldi swiss beers were nice not expensive.

I think with prices in the uk creeping up so much, the gap is getting narrower. Switzerland is certainly worth paying a premium though, it’s such a stunning country but, this amazing campsite was only around £30 per night 👌🏼
