On this day in 1979 {January 6th} Lakeside performed "It's All The Way Live" on the nationally syndicated television program, 'Soul Train'... At the time "It's All The Way Live" was at position #24 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart, five weeks later it would peak at #4 {for 3 weeks}... And on the same 'Soul Train' episode they also performed "Given In To Love", it would reach #73 later in 1979 on the Hot Soul Singles chart... Between 1978 and 1990 the Dayton, Ohio band had seventeen records on the Hot Soul Singles chart, five made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Fantastic Voyage", for two weeks in January of 1981... Besides the above "It's All The Way Live" and "Fantastic Voyage", their three other Top 10 records were a covered version of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" {#5 in 1982}, "Raid" {#8 in 1983}, and "Outrageous" {#7 in 1984}... R.I.P Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012}...

Wow!! I don't understand how I missed these guys?! This rocks! Funk funk funk! Man, these folks got the beat, the funky bass and guitar, and the harmonies. Why did I not ever hear these folks? No matter, they are on my hard drive now! Give up the funk baby!! That guitarist!! I'm sorry but Funk guitarists never get the respect they deserve. Reminds me of George Johnson - got the groove in the licks and the music ticks withe the dancing tricks and it is all so sick! LOVE IT

All They DO Is Play...The Bass? The Guitars? The Drums? Here is what haooen. It always does! These negroes never really read their contracts when they were yiunc(like a lot of artist have done). They just kinda throw it against the wall and hope it stick! Then they made a lil change and first thing they want to do; get some coke, get some freaky white women and by mama a Cadillac …. Then the old niggerism ways(hate and jealousy) settle in and then they stop the love! The main leader talked to folks in the legal industry and he got the idea to trademark or patent his name to “LAKESIDE”. Th erefore cant no one make $$ in the name of Lakeside u less he performs Lakeside songs ! So it got to the point that there was Two lakeside bands! Then one day they were in dallas both bands or something of that nature or the lead singer (was performing with the original members or something and he introduced someone as the real Lakeside or whatever then they had a big fight ! So yes there are two Lakeside bands. I hope they finally resolve the bs just like in Houston Tx there’re use to be two MLK DAY OARADES all behind some ignorant niggerism! To answr your question YES! How can it end? Simple. Make separate contracts since Ol lead singer wanted to keep lakeside for himself Plus it’s a lot of their only means of income so he was looking to get all royalties! Low down brothers towards each other. Sad how we as black folk can’t get our heads straight and understand the edomites(white folks) want us to act like slaves in all fields of human endeavors. It’s up to us to love each other and LESRN TO READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT WE READ!
