Most if not all protocol now for mass shooters is for the first on scene to immediately oppose and neutralize the threat, seconds count when the gunman is shooting without responding gunfire. do you think its smart to cower in a stairwell, while others, armed with pistols as well neutralized the threat?

All the other officers expect for 1 were completely unprepared for this situation... This situation is exactly what happened in Uvalde officers freezing not willing to endanger themselves to stop a threat. If that one tabc officer wasn't there Many people could've been killed.

In the morning, they said he still needed to go through another surgery and that he won't be the same if he survived. I believe they removed portions of the brain, and his skull was shattered @Fulero

There are just some people that are not prepared to perform the job they choose. For their and others sake I hope they find something or get trained and get right with god before something like this kicks off so they do not freeze and perform as poorly as shown in these videos. It was basically one armed TABC officer attacking the threat, one unarmed man pacing behind him in the line of fire that wanted to engage but just got in the way since he was unarmed, one off duty hiding in a corner that had a perfect spot for a hasty ambush on a distracted shooter and three officers too scared to maneuver and engage.

I do like how she said the prayer for herself out loud at one point. Apparently, if you don't say it out loud, god doesn't hear you and you go to hell for stopping a killer. Worked out fine, though, since she did not help anyway. I suppose it's very Christian of her though, with the whole "thou shalt not kill" and "turn the other cheek" all you can do is hang out in the hallway...

Now am I mistaken or did those two cops spend at least five minutes hiding and pacing, while one shot after another was being fired? Is that police procedure? You would assume that with every gunshot another innocent person is being murdered. You would assume that those who have the courage to commit to being an officer would do a little more than take cover for so long. I may be totally off base, but this simply doesn't sit well with me...

According to USA Today Moreno's MIL said she was severely mentally ill. Of course, we already know this. Walli Carranza the MIL said she spoke to neighbors and a teacher and heard from nurses and others who all tried to save Moreno's son by reporting the situation to authorities. Moreno had an arrest record going all the way back to 2005 including unlawfully carrying a weapon. How did this woman even have custody of Samuel and with her record was able to buy an assault rifle. Illegally? So, we thank the system once again for letting another unprotected child slip through the cracks. Shame on you.

It's easy to criticize or judge when not in the situation . They released a comprehensive video showing what happened - that shows transparency . The female officer had compassion for the innocent boy . The incident was only in that area and thankfully no one else was harmed ; also the doors were locked and kept the shooter out of the auditorium as they tried to enter . It was a situation of chaos , and they eventually were able to neutralize the threat ... I think we should show at least some appreciation that they released the transparent videos to the public .

To the others who are attacking Garcia saying she didn't do anything, she wasn't wearing body armor, she prayed and yes God answered, and there were other team members already in a better firing position against the perp. This is a dumb comment. She didn't do anything to resolve the incident while it was occurring. That was her primary responsibility. The church was full of people who know how to pray, what the situation called for was armed responders with nerve. The female officers showed none of what was required.
