The museum welcomes the young dancers the Pine Ridge Reservation (Lakota) of South Dakota. The drummers performing are the Young Minneconjou Drummers from Cheyenne River. The dancers perform the Women's Traditional Dance, Women's Jingle Dress Dance, the Men's Traditional Dance and the Grass Dance in elaborate and beautiful regalia.

My paternal grandmother is from this reservation. I did not have the honor to know her, but recently have been trying to know all I can about her and where she came from. I've also noticed little things throughout my childhood that I did and still do today which is why I'm learning about my heritage now.

Keep the culture alive. Without young people interested in the culture, you have a real genocide. Remember that you are Lakota first, and there were Lakota before the United States was even an idea.

Emily, REALLY? Although the government tried, they couldn't make it so. Wonderful young people who are immersed in their culture -- what a privilege to see this.

These young people are strong, beautiful and spiritual. Words cannot express all they are. I live Native American spirituality because, among many other reasons, they fully embrace the oneness of the universe. Very wise culture and more people should learn and appreciate it. I live fairly close to the museum but missed it because I didn't know about it until the day of the performance.

Give them their land back. Less than a million people live in South Dakota. It’s selfish, greedy, and real systemic racism. Let them establish their own government and live the way God intended them to. A new treaty needs to be made. Natives need to be treated as equals. Not trash left on the side of the road, waiting for it to drift away.

Maybe better to point her in the direction of good knowledge than slap her. She seems open hearted. A young person cannot be blamed for what they don't yet know.

To all the pureblood: I am so sorry for the anger you may feel to all the whites claiming to have native blood. Some of us have proof. Some us it is only in our blood literally. Others,it is a lost culture,no elders,no knowledge. It is something that calls out to the soul and says you are mine- We are not not trying take from you. It is in the blood- soul passed to another generation.

What I have wondered about for several years is, how many Gospel/Christian singers and/or Bands have cared enough to come to The First Nations, The Original Peoples and performed for us AND share The Gospel Of The Lord Jesus Christ with their music and songs? Just as ONE EXAMPLE: Bill and Gloria Gaither have been in SEVERAL places HERE in The U.S.A., AND in SEVERAL places overseas doing their "Homecoming Gatherings", are WE not LOVED by The Lord ALSO? Bill and Gloria Gaither would NOT have to travel far, WE are HERE, in The U.S.A. after all😊. There ARE those of us who are Born Again Christians, believe it or not.WE too are CREATED in The Lord God Almighty's IMAGE, AND Jesus WILLINGLY died for OUR sins also😊.wado,Ann Benson.
