@ATL 1 if you know Nigeria is in Africa, you would know or at least show know not to call it Afro Nigeria. Where as Puerto Rico is a Latino/Hispanic country. She is black (race) and from a Latino/Hispanic country making her Afro Latino.

I don't like the term afro Latina. It's just another way for the United States to divide everyone. In Puerto Rico they don't use this term.

Jose Seijo lol I'm not from the US but from the UK and I would love to see how you know the exact race percentages of most Latinas? I don't think that they are obsessed but want people to acknowledge what they are. I agree with you on the one drop rule though it is silly because being part black doesnt make you black but rather mixed. Plus Africans play a huge part in the latino culture from your music to your dances just because it's in Spanish doesnt mean it's European. Look at African cultures particularly west African and you'll see so much similarities with your culture and theirs. I think a lot of Latinos have also been miseducated aswell on a lot of things. Anyways peace out!

People in Latin America don’t really call themselves Latino though I was told by people that live in various countries in Latin America. What type of family you come from and your class is more important than skin tone and everyone is mixed technically so people just say why nationality so even the lightest to dark person is still mixed. And I ever understood why black Americans that hate being called African Americans are so pressed on Hispanics calling themselves “Afro Latino” or “Latin X” when they come up with all types of excuses why not to call them African. Like why are you so concerned with how other culture sees themselves? It kind of weird. Because Hispanics do not even have the same history with colonization as the Americans blacks. The Spanish would have kids with black women and then make those mixed sons top generals of the highest ranks and would send their daughter to marry well and would eventually give their slaves status that they earned so they would have their own servants and land. The difference between Americans and the Spanish was the white Americans never taught black pple the culture of the British and how to survive were as the Spanish taught theirs there own culture and how to farm and live independently without them and so whenever a African dies they came in as a slave but died as a Spaniard. That’s why the people who do have more African or who are African in Latin America have a different mentality than the black Americans.

This is all nothing but facts. When I’ve said this I get replies saying the Spanish were just as evil as the British which is total bullshit
@BriellaSornFonte

@@Xenlacasa45 lol the people saying that the Spanish are just as evil as the British are the Spanish they are claiming are evil. The Spanish people in Spain aren’t the same Spanish that went to America lol. So their ancestors must be evil. You should’ve said no your ancestors were evil not the Spanish.

Lol that’s not even close to true. American blacks and Latino blacks went through the exact same thing. The vast majority of black Americans have British European blood and our ancestors after emancipation became farmers, land owners, etc and have adapted several British cultural practices and norms. That’s where American culture came from. Mind you I’m both Dominican and Black American and the cultures really aren’t that different at all the only differences are minor like music and food but there’s more similarities than differences
