About the free kick near the end, the reason Isagi didn't jump is he wasn't sure if Rin was gonna shoot or pass. If Rin passed, Isagi was planning to run in and support Nagi on his left. If Rin shot the ball, he was planning to jump for the wall. That's why Isagi was waiting to see which way Rin kicks before he starts moving. But Rin knew exactly what Isagi was thinking, so he went for a shot straight on top of Isagi's head, giving him no time to even react.

Barou 👑 The way Bachira just went back to how he was just a lonely boy that wanted friends kinda hurts .

Remember that moment in the first selection versus Team Z when Bachira dribbled past like 6 guys to score on his own? Some anime-onlys complained about that scene because "why doesn't Bachira play like that all the time if he's so good ):

Basically, that last shot from Rin came out so fast at an angle just barely above Isagi's head so that he had no way to react in time. Isagi was waiting to see if Rin would shoot or pass so he couldn't commit fully to one or the other, and because he took Rin passing into consideration, he already lost. If the shot was slower and went higher, Isagi may have had more time to react and leap for the ball. I also really like how they've used the Additional Times to show what's going on with the other players and who're forming teams while still being able to keep the focus primarily on Isagi's PoV and matches. You never get a situation where they're in the middle of a match or building up to a match and then they cut away to something totally irrelevant to that plotline.

I think the reason why Chigiri was able to react to that shot from Rin but not Isagi is partly because he's a speedster which comes with having extremely fast reflexes and also partly because Isagi was too distracted by the possibility of Rin passing.

The issue with the kick was that Isagi lost the second he started thinking about whether Rin would shoot or pass. Rin was never gonna pass and Isagi would have known that if he was on Rin’s level in terms of game reading

I was looking for Barou and then the Two-faced King appeared. I feel so bad for Bachi-chan though, game lit though.
