Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. Lalo wouldn't have killed them, he wouldn't have to. The reason they had such problems with Tuco was because he was a druggie and a psychopath...too erratic and violent to deal with long term. Lalo, on the other hand, has the mind of the leader of a criminal empire...not to mention the skill and patience of a calculated hitman. No, Walter and Jessie would have been his bitches for a long time...and likely willingly.

@@JWlittlereddIf that happened, Walt would do to the Cartel what he did to Krazy 8 and Emilio. However, a potential meetup between Lalo and Walter would have been epic. Lalo may not underestimate Walter like others did. Walter would have to find another way to overcome Lalo.

This is probably what Vince Gilligan was referring to when he said the end of Better Call Saul will satisfy fans more than the end of Breaking Bad. Lalo Salamanca is black comedy gold & the noir aesthetic is impeccable, how it ultimately plays out is beyond satisfying.
