no detergent i use a dry cloth and a vacuum cleaner with the soft brush nozzle to get in around the bridge and pickups. it works really well, I clean the strings and spray the fret board with finger ease when needed.

@1TIREFIRE I'm no shredder, that's for sure. Sweep picking has always been something that never came easy and is the hardest thing for me to get in Mark's solos. @VarshaRaj9 thanks mate I think it took a day or so to work out and play the riffs. And another day to work out the solo. After I learnt it I keep playing along with the track until I iron out all the hard bits. That can take a few days. think I practised the solo straight for half a day. That fast run wasn't much fun but was easier when I worked out that you start it with an upstroke. I remember that.

I use amplitube as it's able to slow the mp3 track down up to 50%. I go through learning each riff or lick one at a time. It gets easier as you get used to the artist

@LambChopper678 I can get it dude when I learned Holy wars and Tornado of souls it's hard just reading the tablature and putting together the melody from all the arpeggios and bends he uses its mind boggling how good he is. I've gotten into lamb of god these last couple weeks one of the reasons is because Mark Morton has a lead Style similar to mine and I really like Willie Adlers Riff's! But when playing I think adapting to different lead styles helps me get better at improvising. Im rambling..

@fca5 I'd love to do some Megadeth but the thing is I can't do Friedman for shit. His style is the hardest to get my head around. Dave's no slouch either, his playing is spot on and I guess I know my limits. Lamb of God seems to come a lot more naturally to me and I don't feel like I've got to play like somebody else or change my style. Well you got me rambling...
