I hate drawing comparisons between legendary bands. I don't think they mean "replace" as if they're similar and LoG is over taking them. I believe it's meant more in the sense that Slayer is done, so LoG is kind of moving into their place as a super iconic metal band

Even worse than the 'you knowwwwws', was him saying the word 'record', over and over again. I swear, when some of these musicians do interviewers, they try to see how many times they can say the word 'record', in the interview. It drives me absolutely crazy. 'While recording this record, we tried to set a record to see how many times we could say the word record in our interviews about the record'. It is and always has been a pet peeve of mine.

Tony Klar i think it’s just based on the fact that they’re as heavy that’s bigger than most bands excluding the big four obviously. In my experience Lamb of god is like the common band. I like pretty much all the big four expect anthrax but my friends might like Metallica and hate megadeth and slayer and anthrax but still dig LoG. Cause at the end of the day no matter how similar or different they sound they’re pretty much all influenced any combination blues, rock and metal.

in my opinion, Slayer makes music that tries to be World-Record Fast; Lamb of God understands that sometimes Slower riffs are Heavier (for example, "Ghost Walking", the 'waiting for the ghost to BIIIIITE' part-- the guitars are playing Two Different Notes, between the emphasized first-fret and the palm-muted open strings, and that shit fucking KILLS)...if anything, id say that Children of Bodom is the 'happy medium' between the two, where the guitar solos are still wicked fast, but theyre still melodic enough to sound pretty...and not like a cat thats on fire, like some of Slayer's solos -_-

I have never (yet) heard a Lamb of God song, but looking at and listening to this guy talk about his music and the latest album I already know discovering the band will be one of those earthshattering experiences. Oh, it was the dreads that made me click the vid. He got awesome dreads but mine are longer. He is wearing them way more awesome than I wear mine, though. Got to be that rock n' roll nerve that he is practically vibrating with sitting there all relaxed and slightly stoned.
