It’s time for an incredible petrol vs electric drag race!
The Lamborghini Revuelto is back, and it’s going head-to-head against the almighty Tesla Model S Plaid! So let’s see how these two incredible machines compare.
Starting with the Lambo, it’s powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 along with THREE electric motors! These combine to produce 1,015hp and 1,076Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,772kg. If you’re looking to pick one up, it’ll cost you at least £447,000!
Then alongside it we have the Tesla. It’s powered by three electric motors, and these combine to produce 1,020hp and 1,420Nm of torque. It’s also well up on weight compared to the Revuelto, tipping the scales at 2,539kg! It’s a whole lot cheaper, mind, costing around £115,000.
So they’re almost neck-and-neck when it comes to power, but will the extra weight bring the Tesla down? Or will the instant power release propel it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Mate you do realise you can get a van to be quick enough too right? Many cars that will beat the lambo and be sedan or station wagons. It's nothing new. Aerodynamics, power and grip is what matters, not the type of car

@@teem5642 Put that in a reliable package that you can daily and does not need it own pit crew and you have something. Being affordable would be nice but at the performance specs of the Plaid and the Revuelto I don't think that is possible. With that said I love my FK8 Honda Civic Type. I am never selling that car. It is a fraction of the cost of these cars, it is reliable, it is practical it has one of the best 6 speed manuals in the business.

Soft limiter is a limiter to limit the loudness of a vehicle otherwise meaning if it was without one it wouldn't be road legal do to regulations it also could depending on the car limit the torque of a vehicle preventing it from overloud of to much power

Tesla developed carbon sleeved motors for the Plaid in colab with SpaceX, advantage is that htey can spin at some crazy high rpms (over 20k) while maintaining the power. To put my words in action the Taycan Turbo S (don't know for the new one but from what I've seen is very similar only with power increase) had a difficult to develop and heavy two speed gearbox and managed to retain 60% of full power @250kmh, Plaid has 90% power remaining at over 300kmh with one gear. Top speed of the Model S Plaid when unlocked is probably around 360kmh if not more (some guys unlocked it and it easily did 216mph, you have a video). Now try to imagine what could Tesla do from a proper 2 door sports car for 300k if their family sedan can beat a 1500hp Chiron in a 1/2 mile race and even in braking (at least with track pack)...

@@lukabosnjak3829 Where did a Tesla beat a Chiron at the 1/2 mile? Also you're comparing 2 different technologies. The Chiron is effectively a 20 year old platform. No doubt Lambo could have invested in making a lightning fast electric performance car but they have to cater to a customer base that values experience over speed (i.e. it needs a V12). The Lucid Air Saphire is quicker than a Plaid showing that using electric tech to make a car quick in a straight line really isn't that hard. Besides we're reaching the limits of performance. Eventually ICE cars and EV's will become indistinguishable in performance cause they both have the same massive hurdle. Rubber and Tarmac.

@@jonnowocky8179 Not true, actually. The stopping distance for the Model S Plaid is actually better than, say, a Porsche Taycan. They fade very quickly though, so in track conditions they're very bad. Most cars don't actually stop faster with bigger brakes. The stopping distance is determined mostly by the grip of the tyres. As long as the brakes are strong enough to lock up the wheels they're no longer the determining factor.

@MrJturner74 Actually, as of late, I am just seeing EVs whoop ICEs way out of their league. Check Haggerty's Hyunday ionic n 5 beat 3 other much more prestigious brands, including Lamborghini, I think. It's just crazy, the power and torque of electric drive. I think electric motor should be used in conjuction with forced induction ICE (e.g., turbo), where electric drives the low RPM while FI drives the higher RPM. It would be complex but interesting.

The entire AI thing is nothing but a silicone valley ruse so they can distance themselves from any F-ups that their computer programmes make. People need to stop saying it as its easy to prove AI does not exist and we are decades away from any coding for it. It’s like.. i paid how much to keep seeing that Tesla either walk away from me, or be right next to me? Ouch. Yeah.. the Revuelto is cool and all.. but it’s just a dumb millionaires toy. Damn near anyone with a good paying job and not a house full of kids, could get a Plaid if they REALLY want one. And it’s actually a great any day car. Shit load of space.. comfortable 4 seater +.. most intelligent and safest car on the road.. AND you can still stomp just about anything you’re likely to ever see at any light 99% of the time lol.

@@airheart1 Idk what is your salary etc. but the Tesla starts at like 120k...That puts it in position of one of most expensive US cars. Most customers looking at cars from your POV would probably rather buy something like a Jeep Trackhawk, prividing pretty close performance and a milion times better versatiliy, than S plaid. Family life isn't about drag racing. And tesla is still just a toy. Lambo is a piece of art and engineering. That's why 10 year old Murcielago is now more expensive, than Aventadors and will get more expensive in time, while used teslas drop like a stone

@@thespalek1 oh, i’ll give you that lambo’s and the like are a form of art. No doubt. And a tesla isn’t. What a Tesla IS.. is technological genius. And a model S starts at $73k. And you get 90% of everything at that price. And you don’t have to deal with a thieving dealership. A plaid starts at $88k. And this isn’t a.. starts at like other car companies. You can just buy a base $88k Plaid and you get all the toys minus color options and track pack brakes, tires and unlocked top end. Still does like 170 mph in the base Plaid. So.. you’re WAY off on your ideas of price. And when you start to think about ownership costs.. Tesla’s only get WAY better. If you think a souped up Jeep is the future.. or more practical and family friendly.. lol.. well.. good, enjoy it. I know what works best in my world. P.S. if you need more space for a family, you can get an X Plaid for $93k and still be bonkers fast with all the toys. And if you go with standard X.. crazily.. it’s even cheaper than an S right now with the tax incentives.

Its 1,020hp not 1,200. Which is essentially the same as the Lambo. Yet it is heavier, has more room, huge trunk and frunk, cost nothing to run... its ok to hate on Tesla, still impressive

@@ehudk215 indeed, mixed up my numbers, it is far from costing nothing to run though ? Fuel is not a problem, but those batteries are dealing with hell at such levels of power, and the inverter is not really made to handle 800 volts indefinitly

Preferably just show the races uncut, it's dumb that my less than ten second quarter pass takes a minute of time on the video and as many fast cuts to different angles as 90's techno music video. Keep the runs chronologically running in order and views so, that we actually can see how the races go. Some runs are like old police chases on movies - it makes it look like it is cut from fifteen different races. One is leading, they are even, one is five meters behind, they are even, five meters, even....
