Lamley Preview: Hot Wheels Nissan Skyline GT-R Premium Set

The second this set was revealed the buzz began, and the hype is worth it. This Nissan Skyline GT-R set is special, and Hot Wheels made it so by matching the three generations of Godzilla in plain white with killer rims.
BUT that comes on the heels of another special Hot Wheels set that hasn't gotten the same amount of attention but deserves it. The Muscle set seems to be a throwback to Vintage Racing, the 30-car line Hot Wheels created that has become more and more of a holy grail to collectors over the last decade. So let's have a look at that too.

I have tons of Hot Wheels GT-R's and have both the RLC R34's and all other premium castings, but I just had the preorder this set. I remember when I was a kid and saw an article on Import Tuner magazine introducing the R32, R33, R34 GTR's and it had stunning photos of 3 white GTR's from each era. That was the first time I saw the white colorway and all of them side by side. I knew I had to own them all from the moment I laid eyes on the photos. Now my dream is coming true. lol

I have to say the cars look way better out of that Nissan "Diorama" package and i like the white clean look. The R33 and R32 makes it worthy to get for me. Thanks for the presentation!

You can't really cheat by replacing it with junk cars, its obvious that the person who checks the return is a car fan or knows about cars and can tell the junk cars don't belong there. Also if they smart enough they will replace it with other nissan cars.

The R34 and R33 look stunning!! Best versions of the respective castings. The R32, I still think the black one loks the best, with this one close behind.

good lord this is a beautiful set. i hope Hot Wheels makes a tons of these so as many people can appreciate this as possible and keep prices low. Also hoping they make a Honda, Mazda, Toyota & Subaru-themed set.

Got my r33 recently, and i did do some custom on it, mainly the front splitter I repainted it in white. Other than that, this is a great release by hot wheels

Nice only one case of the white Skyline set came to Torrance Walmart never saw it again, and 8 cases of the muscle cars, took one set of the skylines and one set of the muscle cars

The Muscle Diorama sets i've seen in stores all have blemishes on at least one car if not more, which is kindof a drag... The Hauler is the highlight IMO. I *REALLY REALLY* hope the cars in the skyline diorama are executed well.

Im from Sydney, Australia and these are selling like hotcakes - Sold out everywhere. Managed to buy one off market place for $50 AUD but they're going up to like $150 AUD on ebay. Bloody crazy.If you're a JDM and GTR fan - They're definitely worth it !!!!

I will not be getting myself although it looks great. I do know of someone that will be on the lookout for though. One of the nicer sets to date. I like the clean look of the entre line of cars plus the truck.

Maybe, maybe not. Ever since the F+F set I feel like they've been sending out more of them. They saw the demand on that 1st Nissan set I guess? The Gasser set and the Muscle set have been in the stores regularly, Usually btwn 2-6 on any given trip. I sure hope thats the case with this one!
